TheGrandPuba
I just got a new three hose Lunar rotator from hookah-shisha and the paint on the base has been flaking off. Not very big pieces but enough to make me mad. Is it normal for a small amount of paint to peel off of new bases? And is this very common? This is my first hookah and I haven't even had it a week yet. Any suggestions would be great.
yashman19
Sorry mang. Out of my four hookahs, none of them have ever shown signs of peeling paint. Although, all of them have hardly any paint on them... My two bases that are glass only have pinstrips of paint, and they have held up well. And my stargate/spider are both maid of metel, and both also are still good. Maybe you can contact hookah-shisha and let them know of your problem. Don't expect much though, because if they send you a replacement base, it will more than likely peel the same as yours now. And also, its only a visual problem and not a problem that is effecting the way it smokes.
Sonthert
I've seen that alot, especially the sparkly paint. Egyptian hookahs especially...the one looks a child did it? Thats because they use child labor and a child probably did do it. You can get mad, but it won't help anything. Don't submerge the jar in water, avoid getting it wet (on the outside, silly). Some Egyptian rotater jars I've seen, since the jars seal poorly, and water drips out, all overthe paint, have been rendered paintless in the matter of a few weeks. TheGrandPuba
Is there anything I can do to seal off my rotator any better? Also i was thinking that i could get some glass paint and touch it up. Maybe even putting a clear coat over it after i touch it up to make sure it won't flake again. Would the clear coat hurt anything and is this even a good idea? if not what else could i do to stop the peeling? All i know is make sure not to use hot water when washing it. Sonthert
I don't know...I would think just wash it all off and have a plain jar, in my opinion. We, the manufacturers and distributers look at it and say...$8 jar...chuck it, get a new one!Real helpful, eh? Sorry about that. I feel for the loss of your paint. When decorations are lost, it diminishes us all.
