This pretty much tells you the process for moassels like Desi. I used it for Nakhla, but found that the black strap gave me headaches. So I switched it out for honey. Been golden ever since.

Thanks a ton!

So, if I were to order a few flavors, which ones should I go for? I think Spiced Apple is a must, and I am a Mint freak, so I may try that. Plain sounds interesting, too.

I'm smoking watermelon right now with a DIY tealight scalli mod, 2 coco naras, inside a small tangiers funnel.. and I am buzzed like hell.. very difficult to type at the moment.. I used some glycerine, but I guess not enough 'cause it ain't giving me a lot of smoke.. but shit.. it's a fuckin awesome buzz.. NOT for beginners.. hell no. Beginners stay away!

I think I'll try some honey in it too, or molasses.. or agave.. not sure.. something sweet and squishy..

I was so wrong about it being herbal shisha.. no.. this is pure tobacco.. and deffinately unwashed.. Edited by JDHarding

Just ordered Spicy Apple, Mint, and Watermelon. Would it be worth it to buy glycerin for this, or should I go all-natural and just use honey?

Glycerin if you intend to use foil. This summer I'll probably go with just honey and the plain without foil... but honestly I just love the clouds that some good old glycerin creates!

Yeah, foil is the idea. So do I add like a half teaspoon of each to a small phunnel?

I personally use a 1 to 1 ratio glycerin to honey, if I use 1 teaspoon of glycerin, I use 1 teaspoon of honey.

Alright, cool. Thank you so much, guys. I know I had a lot of questions, so thank you for being so patient and helpful. I love this board more and more every day.

You can also get this in India in cans, though I don't know ; they might tear it to bits at customs. My brother is in India often on business maybe I'd ask him. I've seen it called "Jurak paste" online.

Smoked some Desi Murli Spicy Apple last night. It was hard as hell to get smoke out of it but once I did the buzz was really nice.

I have mixed some glycerin into the batch to get some bigger clouds but I haven't tried it yet.

I am going for round two later today with looser packing, more glycerin and 4 coco's. I had three coco's and a fumari coal on there last night and it was producing small clouds with all that heat. tongue.gif

Taste was pretty good though. I liked the flavor and the price is very good for what you get.

I wonder if that's the tobacco paste my friend kept raving about..

It seems it's called "Jurak", not shisha.

I got my Desi's in the other day. Still fighting this cold, but I tried a few last night.

Nour 23" with standard bowl, Nammor hose, orange-wood coals.

Raspberry -I added honey and glycerin, it was quite enjoyable. Got some decent smoke this way, and the buzz was decent. It does look like dirt, and many skinny sticks or stems in it. I wonder if they are part of a raspberry plant, they do not look like tobacco stems. I just left them in, next time I'll sort em out. Smoked it down to a solid puck, about 45min.
Under the raspberry flavor there is a distinct tobacco flavor, slightly spicy.

Double Apple - I tried this one without the glycerin and honey. Not nearly as much smoke, but I felt the buzz better this way. No fine little sticks like in the raspberry, in this one. Had to use more heat to get it to smoke, and it became somewhat harsh. Again the spicy tobacco flavor underneath. 45min, produced a puck. I liked it, but next time will add the condiments as above.

I really need to get myself a Phunnel bowl, I think it might have made a difference in smoke time and flavor.

I just put an order in for Plain, Kewhra, Khus, and Roohazfa. I can't wait to try these out!!! So does Desi Murli come in a bag or tub that you are able to re-use? Or is this like Tangiers where you would need your own container with lid?

You'll need your own container. It fills a Gladware container up to the top since it is 300g and not as juicy so there is more tobacco present rather than juice.
