Smashraj84
When I ordered my hookah it came with a glass vase protector, I couldn't get it on, which ever way I tugged it onto the bottom, it wouldn't get over to the other side of the vase. I ended up trying to cut a flap into it, but it still wouldn't work. Then I realized it was pink, and didn't really go with my blue and yellow hookah and I was frustrated so I just tossed it in the trash. Now I'm realizing that it might be a good idea to get one since I'm not always careful with how hard I place it on the ground/table.Has anyone ever had this problem with a glass vase protector and have hints on how to get it on? Also, I'm gonna order from SouthSmoke and I was wondering if you think their large glass vase protector will fit the blue genie base on this page: http://hookahkings.com/largebases.htm.Thanks
imonlyapuppet
yours was just the wrong size base protector. I have one of those things, and I never use it. It just doesn't feel safe to me. Just keep your hookah on the ground, don't put it on anything high up (if it falls, it will break and/or set things on fire) and keep your hand on it if theres a bunch of people (or any drunks) around it
Monil
When mine came it came with the hookah and was already on. I took it off because the bright pink did not suit the dark blue/black vase. I've not had much use for it, just makes it look ugly as far as I'm concerned.

My advice if you don't like the gay looking base protectors is to go to the store and get those little fuzzy things that attach to objects and couchin, and slap a couple of those onto the bottom. They make different kinds that either attach by velcro, or other types as well. This might work well for you.

Smashraj84
I placed an order with southsmoke for a wind cover, hookah travel bag, space six series lighter (dark silver), 100 plastic narrow mouthpieces, motion lights, and another base protector. Then I read Yashman's post and realized that those couch sliders/protector thingamabobs would do just the same thing and I wouldn't have to worry about struggling to get them on.Anyways, I called them up to see if I could remove the base protector and the lady said they had my order all ready to be shipped and it would've been shipped in the 20-30 minutes. Thank goodness I called, saved myself $5. It's also pretty sweet that I placed my order at 12:55 PM, and it was ready to ship at 1:45 PM.
yashman19
Yeah I didn't mean you don't pay any attention to being careful, just that you are worried about setting it down too hard and breaking it, which imonlyapuppet didn't realize. He thought you were worried of droping your hookah from a table I think? Don't think he realized that you were infact keeping the base on the ground and just wanted something to prevent it from chipping while placing it on the ground. coldfire22x
my hookah came with a dark blue base protector which i will only use if i take the hookah out to the garage (cement floor). i found it's easiest to turn the protector inside out, press against the bottom of the hookah, and then begin to turn it right side in. these pink ones you guys speak of don't sound very asthetically pleasing ;p
