Bowl Size

Recommended Posts

I haven't tried it, but it doesn't look like it could hold very much
ma'assel. But then again you might not care about how long your sessino
is. If not, then go for it, but I like my session to run for a bare
minimum of atleast 45-1h long of solid flavor/smoke. If I want to I can
even drag the session out longer with more coals, but after the 1h
point, the flavor really starts to fade. This is using my chinese
ceramic large bowl.

With the bowl in question, it looks to be able to hold 10-15 grams,
which would last me probably 25-35 minutes of good flavored smoke, and
you could probably smoke much longer, but with weak flavor left.

Mind you this is just my personal opinion, and I can't really back that
up because I've never used this exact bowl, but I have bowls roughly
that size.

It's a lot bigger than it actually looks in that picture.  I have the smaller sized one and it really does hold a lot of tobacco.  The top is also very wide. One of the best things about these bowls is that they are tall and very thick.  I place like 3 inches of finger coals and the bottom of the bowl is still holdable.  I don't think I will ever change bowls.  They are also VERY strong.I have many different bowls of all shapes, sizes, materials and from different places and this has to be the best.

[quote name='MR Bubble']Size Don't matter! It all depends on how you use it!!

Size does matter if you're looking for a longer session though (talking about ma'assel now ).
I have no doubt that you can get a great tasting smoke out of any bowl,
but having a bowl that can hold more ma'assel will last longer.

But I guess from what people are saying who have this bowl is that it does infact hold a good amount. Thats good to hear.

Ahem. Yes, those are my bowls, well Tangiers manufactures them. The small, depicted there, holds 20-30g of tobacco, the medium holds 40-50g of tobacco and the large holds 65-75 grams of tobacco (Tangiers tobacco, other brands will rank heavier). I have some "errors" which ended up being a prototype for "el jumbo" which holds 90-100g. My bowls are made in the USA, by hand, with all certified non-toxic materials. They're high-fired to make them more durable and retain heat better, so you need less charcoal. I feel like a commercial. Crap. I'm leaving, now.
