I think he is trying to avoid people repeating the same offense. I have already been suspended once for accidentally posting in the review section, which I was a bit unhappy about, but whatever NBD. At that time, he posted that he was suspending people for that very reasons, but didn't give out names. I think he named people this time because from what I see, Chinamon and Sixpacksunday are two high post count members and it is Mushrat's way of saying "I don't care who you are, how much you have or haven't posted, or anything, I will suspend you if I want to." Normally, I would caution Mushrat because he might piss off too many people who will not return, but this is such an active forum I don't think they will have that problem.

i dont think it has anything to do with fear, more like if you break the rules you will be treated accordingly..if the admin wants to keep it private or public its his business..its his webiste..just like at work..if someone screws up and breaks the rules the boss holds a short meeting and tells everyone what happened so it doesnt happen again..

Ya i fallow this forum closely, not always post but when i do its something meaningfull, and this post is not that, its just a tease that someone got banned for a couple days, i know the whole reasoning behind this all and i support that, but in my opinion i think this post is demeaning against our fellow members and it kinda puts a bad taste in everyones mouth.

Eh I saw this coming. I don't know what happened to put the ban in place, but I do feel these posts are somewhat necessary. I mean it shows to all current and new members just joining that the rules must be followed and no bullshit will be tolerated.

if you follow the rules and use common sense you have nothing to fear. and honestly a 2 day ban is not that bad.

kinda funny that some people complain only when we post about people being banned. if you actually read and know the rules then you wouldn't wait till we post about a banning to complain about it. (if you still dont know what im talking about then take a quick look at the forum rules)

Actually, i do it for 2 reasons.

1) so that the person suspended, who can't get a pm telling them why they were suspended cause, well, their account is suspended.

2)as a warning to others to get a clue.

3) the smiley face on this one was a way of showing *I* get the last laugh when someone is purposely doing something to be "funny", when it's simply pissing me off. Especially after they knowingly do the same thing the other guy got suspended for an hour before.

This issue of posting announcements has been discussed before and we've decided this is the best way. It acts as notification and a warning all at the same time. And all in all, it's NNOT really a big deal..unless they are dumb enough to break ANOTHER main rule and create another account...which im sure these two won't do...

Agreed, Six gives away alot of stuff for free on this forum and has come up with competition and even the shisha pass it on etc he is a very good member.

im not going into if i agree or disagree with the ban this isnt the place

i just wanted to point out saying some people never learn about a guy you have never spoken to is rather unfair.

Not sure if six is going to be back, he sent me an Aim messege expressing his displeasure at me, the forum, and the other mods. He was speaking for several other members he says. Says he may be back in a few weeks. Don't hold your breath folks. Some people don't realize this is a privately owned and run forum, and even if you are a long time member, the rules and such STILL apply to you. As stated before, I don't own this forum, but i run it at the request of those who do, and while i spend many hours dealing with little and big problems, I don't get any sort of compensation and very little thanks. (though some of you have taken the time and I appriciate that.) This isn't some power trip. If i wanted that I'd own my own business..oh wait...

This forum is run the way it is because of a shared vision of a good forum. No banners, no spam, no daily e-mails pushing this or that, just people with a common interest coming together to talk as reasonable adults. If you can't do that..well..you don't get to play here..simple as that.

I kinda like the adlessness of this place. That one forum looks like a myspace with a hookah duct-taped to it with an ad campaign that exploded on it. Thanks mushy for doing all this I understand that it could be a PITA.

i agree everyone is entitled to an opinion infact it is one of my main beliefs but i dont agree with judging people before you know them, it is the saying "judging a book by its cover" and is no different to judging someone based on age, gender or appearance

to explain why im a little passionate on this issue i am subject to a large amount of prejudice due to my appearance and these people simply judge me based on an appearance while knowing nothing else, judging based on this one action is no different.

just my 2 cents

im judging anyone..im just agreeing with the the suspension..thats does mean i think hes a bad guy? no offcourse not..it means i agree his actions where not up to forum rules..and no matter who you are, or how long you been here, or how many things you've done for the forum..you still have to obey each and every rule like the next person..i got nothing against the guy himself..its his actions in question..

There a lot of goofiness that goes one between certain members (me included) and sometimes it gets out of hand. Just leave it at he posted something that he shouldn't have after china already did it, and thats that. I think everyone gets the jist of this thread and it has ran its course. /thread. wink.gif

These threads go so ridiculously deep... it's just SixPack did something that wasn't tolerated and got a ban. That's it. It's not based on race, appearance, sexual orientation, or whatever the hell you guys can come up with.

A Ban is a Ban, simple as that. No point arguing because no matter what you have to say, you have no power, and Mushrat has it all.
