So I havent had a video game system since the N64, so i am def. not up to date on what is going on these days but I am thinking about picking up one of the (relatively) new consoles soon. I have played both the 360 and the Wii, and both were great but only got a chance to try a couple games. The issue is that the games i am interested in getting are all for different systems. So if you could give me a few examples of why one of the consoles kicks ass that would be great.

OK I have 2 and my friends all have the 360 so I will help you out:

Wii if you plan on playing mainly with friends, have friends over and so forth

360 if you like to play online and don't have an HDTV that you want a bluray player for

PS3 if you want the best graphics and need a bluray player.

Hope this helps, just my opinion.

i have the 360.
Its only good cause it has halo and oblivion but other than that its the worst device i have seen ever.
2 days after i got it the tray stopped responding to the open command sometimes, now sometimes it red rings when i turn it on and sometimes just doesnt recognize games as games and sometimes just doesnt read things and sometimes just freezes over all.

The ps3 i havent seen any games but little big planet i would buy for it, so its basically a really expensive blu-ray player at least to me.

THe wii, you need nothing other than wii sports for it, prolly the best game ever.

you should get a 360! the gameplay is awesome! i mnea the wii is good but its something to get active with, the 360 its more strategic type of gameplay, but its really on your opinion. GL with that either or you should have fun.. if you do get xbox360 sign up for xbox live where you can play all your games online and you should add me to your friends list! haha

Heres what you do... get a 360, flash the drive, download the games online, burn them to discs (with the proper equipment), and have a great system that you never have to buy a game for =) you can try any game for basically 2 bucks (price of the proper discs) after only burning a few games, you have already made your money back... I have had my system flashed for a long time... I can still play online and I even can get games up to a month before it's release date... =)

yeah right now im leaning towards either the 360 or the Wii since wii has sports and mario kart and 360 has halo 3. I dont know the first thing about burning videogames and doubt i have the proper equipment. Once i learned to download music i figured i was set.

I currently have a 360, i had a wii for about 2 years that i just recently sold. My opinion of the wii, is that it is a very interesting system. Very easy to pickup and play pretty much any game, fun with a group of people but playing online with it is ridiculous. But, the only really, really good games are the ones made by Nintendo themselves. There isnt much 3rd party support for the system. Nintendo has also really already released every quality stable game that they could have released already (ie, Zelda, Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Metroid, Mario Galaxy) so it will be awhile (if they even release sequels to any of these games on this system). Also, they are releasing something that should have been included upon release of the system almost 3 years after release. (the 1:1 motion capabilities being released with Wii Sports: Resort) So any game that would have been awesome with that kind of control, you aren't going to be able to use. Plus, like i said before, i don't see many 3rd party systems that are completely comfortable or confident in developing for the Wii, Nintendo seem to be the only ones that truly understand how to develop for the system (b/c it is their own). Final point, for the wii, there isn't much down the line coming out in 2009 that is great and

I currently am very happy with my 360, will it stay that way. Probably not forever, but ATM i am pretty happy with it.
