Ok, So Its Time To Get A Km

Recommended Posts

I've never smoked out of one, and I think its finally time to take the plunge. I have been shopping around, and of all the pipes I have looked at, this one stands out:

38" Exotica

I only saw one review, so does anyone have input? Its between this and a Tri-Metal for me. I just have to find someone selling the tri. Haha.

Anyone who has tried both, which is better?

I'm sorry but threads like this are getting boring. Find me a hookah that you're among the select few to have. Something that performs better than you thought it would. That way people can say "Hey I never thought that would work as well as it does. Guys check this one out." I like seeing hookahs that just come out of no where. Hookah hasnt always been defined by a single brand. Take a risk. Yes it has a chance of not working. But a bigger reward is having something you appreciate more than just having what the rest have.

I'd actually like to see how this hookah performs. I havent seen it before but it has some pretty looking craftsmanship behind it.

I have both the Exotica and Tri-Metal and love them both. It really is strickly looks that differs and nothing else. Both smoke flawlessly.

And on a personal note...... If these threads are boring to you..... Don't read them. Polite people don't have a problem answering an honestly asked question. Even if it's a repeat. I'm sick to death of people getting beaten up because they ask a question already asked. Didn't your mother ever tell you "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all?"

I would agree if the buyer already has several hookahs that are great. But for someone not so experienced, who's used to smoking a cheap mya knock-off (for instance), I'd suggest going for a hookah he knows is great. Might not be that exiting for us but at least he'll be sure not to spend his whole budget on something sub-par. Edited by Balthazar

The Pharonie will actually be the harder of the two to clean imo. It's got a copper stem so water won't rinse it out completely whereas the ssr has steel. At the same time, my Pharonie smokes the best of my 4 hookahs (2 km's, nour, mya) so if you don't mind brushing it out before each session then its a great buy.

I currently do not own a hookah because I gave mine away when I quit smoking (it was a pos anyway). I am getting back into smoking again now and am looking at a KM. Codename067 has a video on youtube of him and a buddy smoking a KM chiller that produced awesome smoke (they were even outside while doing it). They don't make the chiller anymore, but now make a KM ice, which is very similar. That is the one I am going for. I am not very experienced so I wanted to get something I know would smoke great. Plus, I am college student with a limited budget that can't afford to experiment. When I was trying to decided, I looked into the 40" ssr, the exotica jr, and the 35" ice. The guys on the thread I started told me the same thing, just get something that looks nice. One guy did tell me that pretty well anything KM 30" or taller is going to smoke pretty well the same. I would suggest looking at gothookahs.com. They seem to have better prices than other places, plus the reviews in the vendor section say the guy is easy to deal with. I am going to place an order through them once Chuck posts another promo code, which I hope is soon because I am getting impatient and eager. Seriously check out Codename067's video on youtube. He also uses some different coals than I am used. I would like to know what kind they are, but I just keep forgetting to ask. It looks like they glow purple which is kinda cool.

I think the copper does look pretty badass on hookahs, but now that Vin13 has informed that they are harder to clean I think I might stay away. Also, I live in a dorm room with limited space, so the guys warned me to not get one too big.

I answered his question trying to open a door to somewhere else. I dont see any reason why I cant speak civilly while giving my opinion. My opinion was that it would be more gratifying to find something other than what practically every forum member on here has. I'd like to have choices and with every vendor out there trying to get their hands on branded hookahs like KM, MZ, Mya etc, all the good hookahs that might have come up arent even getting looked at because the demand is so high for those three. Supply and demand is what's fundamentally behind that, I know. I just would like some assurance that variety wont die because of the popularity of a few. I dont want to have to GO to Egypt to find a nice off brand Egyptian hookah. I wanna think that vendors are always looking for quality crafted merchandise even if it doesnt have a logo on it. Now I find myself even questioning my own next purchase when before I wouldnt have questioned it this much. As long as it wasnt some cheap chinese hookah or some weird looking hookah that didnt look like it could ever smoke well and I liked the styling and description it had a chance. Now I'm like, "if I dont buy a KM (or whatever) I may as well be throwing a dart at a really tiny dart board hoping I get lucky." I wanna think I've got more guts than that. Maybe I dont, but only my wallet and I know for sure.
