FamiliarJoe
....is washing my hookah in my dishwasher a good or bad idea and why, haha.Seems like a good idea to me ..
soldier92
I don't see it damaging it but it could make the hookah rust faster. And it also might not do a very good job, seeing as the stem is so long skinny the water and soap might not reach through the whole thing. That is if you are talking about the stem. The base should be fine. It's just a glass jar, however if it has some sort of design on it I wouldn't recommend it just because it might pull of the paint used on the design, that happened to me. Putting the stem in would most likely be a bad idea now that you mention it rusting faster..I might put the base in though and see if it still smells like hookah water once it's out heh
MWlax00
i run my QT thru the dishwasher all the time. zero rust. i take the brush that came with it, and give the stem and down stem a quick brushing, then throw everything but the bowl in the washer. with a minimal amount of soap. AKammenzind
A QT will be fine in the dishwasher, it's all chromed, and the bits that aren't are just brass anyways... no worries about rust. The base is also no worry, as there's no paint on it.
inino
it should be fine, but to tell you the truth, it wont clean it very good. it wont even get rid of the yellow ring in the vase if thats what you are after. hand washing is always best. wliu003
i do it with the base all the time. the stem i usually just rinse with water, never tried it with the dishwasher.
ambuletzd2h
ive ran a few of my vases in the dishwasher before and its cleans them very well and no after smell!
AmunRa
It depends. The only parts you should ever put in the dishwasher would be the ash tray, base, and/or the bowl. If you base has paint on it, do not put it in the dishwasher. Never put the stem in there.I put my base, bowl, and ash tray in the dishwasher all the time without disaster. I put the base over two prongs on the bottom, and the bowl and tray on the top shelf.

K1024
thats why my hookah has a pyrex class base i just put water i nit and then boild it on the stove, and everything comes right off in a couple of minutes. let stand for 5 and your ready to smoke again and with ice even!actually my hookah has a pyrex base cause my real base broke...but i reap the benefits all the same. Hobbs
If you're just looking for a mega deep clean try soaking all your pieces in a bucket/tub of water & baking soda for about 20-30 minutes, then rinsing everything off real good.Could make an old busted hookah fresh as a summer breeze. ElijahSing
yeah, the baking soda, and then add a touch of lemon juice and scrub down with that, then rinse off.. It leaves it smelling nice and fresh =]
