Were the forums down?

Recommended Posts

yeah, it looks like that the registrar temporarily froze the domain name, for whatever reason. i did a couple of whois's and it listed the status as "REGISTRAR-LOCK", although that's what it still says when i do a whois.  so i don't know if that's even relevant.  regardless, the message said the domain was suspended while the forums were down, so who knows.

'registrar-lock' is normal ... that just means that you aren't able to transfer the domain name from one registrar to another.but related to the forum, i can never log in my first try.  it _always_ tells me that the security code confirmation is wrong (but only on the first try).  is this the case for anyone else?

yeah, like i said it still says registrar lock, so i guess that's not it, but when trying to come to the site yesterday it said that the domain had been suspended and to please contact your hosting providor. *shrug*and as for the login, probably 5 out of 6 times or so, it tells me the wrong security code was entered.  not always, though.  perhaps the routine that generates those codes (or selects them, i think there are only a handful that get rotated) gets a little overexcited when more than one person tries to log in or navigate the page and the security code is obsolete by the time it's entered when logging in.  i dunno.  sometimes i get it to work right away, but most of the time i have the same problem as you..  one time i couldn't reply to a thread, because every time i ilogged in and then went to the thread, i was logged out again and i had to repeat the process.  it's really buggy :)
I haven't been on lately, but it wouldn't surprise me at all...it's not uncommon.
I'd call it uncommon, this is only the second time its happened since I've registered, atleast for more than a couple hours..

But what forums don't have their downtimes? Especially since this forum is starting to grow pretty rapidly.
