Tyler
So I got my Nahkla Orange in the other day and tried a bowl of it straight from the box, then acclimated it for 10 hours and tried it again, nothing changes and it's horrible! Did I just get a bad batch? I was under the impression this was the "best" orange flavor. What a let down
SilentBob
Orange IMO is not their best, Mandarin is. Perhaps yours is old? Nakhla orange always had a mild flavor to it as well
NIGHTS OF BAGHDAD
what was your setup like? number of coals..what kind of coals..type of bowl..how did you pack it tight or loose?

Tyler
I used my stargate and used the same setup that I use for any kind of shisha, works amazingly on everything. The shisha itself smoked well the flavor was just BLAH. Anyone wanna trade some shisha for Nahkla orange?

drabin
I;m going to have to add on to the fact that orange sucks... mandarin is the shit. I know someone likes orange though I think its stuie you will have to ask him why.
mattarios2
I like orange too, my batches have always tasted ... well .. just like an orange heh. I'd suggest packing more in the bowl. It should be semi-tight compared to other shishas. And I have never had a "bad" batch of nakhla so ... it is either something you are doing wrong or your pallet does not like it. I like both mandarin and orange. Can't really say what I like better just yet, needa smoke more bowls of mandarin to decide.
inino
ya, i also like the orange. and i agree with packing it a little tighter, it might helped you a little.

Bulldog_916
I'm actually the opposite to a lot of people here, I didnt like the mandarin at all. Really dry smoke, tastes citrusy but not very good. Tried reconstituting and it worked a bit but the bad blah taste is still there.
Stuie
Sorry dude, don't know what to tell you. I love their orange never been a big fan of the mandarin. I have a kilo of the orange and haven't had a bad smoke yet. Maybe you are using to much heat.
GreatPigHookah
I love the Nakhla Orange. I like to mix it with a little AF vanilla, about 25%. Did you stir it up good? Have you smoked Nakhla before or is this your first time with Nakhla? IDK, man, but either there is something wrong with your setup, you got a old/bad package, or maybe you just don't like it. I know this, tobacco does some REALLY wierd stuff sometimes, and it doesn't matter what brand it is. I've had strange things happen to every brand I've tried. I had some AF eskandrani apple just develope a solvent-like smell - no fruit smell at all - it smelled like paint stripper or something. I let it air out for a day or two and it went back to normal. Go figure.
mitchell8621
I must agree on Mandarin being the stronger and better of the orange flavors offered by Nakala...I never smoke nakala orange, but mandarin is delicious...
Tyler
Yeah I mixed it up pretty well, only used 1 33mm 3K coal so it can't be too much heat. I duno. Was my frist time with Nahkla, maybe it's just not my thing. If any of you who like Nahkla Orange has some Nahkla Mandarin I'd be willing to trade some orange for some mandarin to see how I like it? PM me if this is the case.

Remember, Nakhla can take more heat than the "wetter" brands, too. I'll usually use two 33mm coals when I use quicklights on a small bowl.

I can use three natural pieces on a small bowl sometimes. Normally two works well though. Get more heat on that puppy!
