Hookah On The Road!

Recommended Posts

So ive been sad lately because im always in class or at work , so I never have time to use my hookah.

So I decided to take advantage of the cage my QT came with...

Hoses are unplugged when im not using it but, it works great biggrin.gif

When I take sharp turns I just hold onto it so it doesn't swing to much, but other than that it works out GREAT!

Everyone looks at me funny on the road but I get a good laugh out of it.

oh snaps! that looks really nice.

you arent worried about coals destroying your interior?

Funny you say that, my extremely intelligent friend was trying to help me by cleaning the ash tray and picked up a coal..then dropped it on my rugs under my seats. I got a nice little hookah love stain now from that. As long as your careful it works out pretty nicely smile.gif

I'd be careful with that setup... You could (and will eventually) get stopped for something and probably (most likely) cited for obstruction of view and/or given guff for it "being for NHT"

Tiny is right having something hanging from your rearview mirror can get you pulled over, granted most cops disregard fuzzy dice and whatnot. However a hookah is liable to cause some attention.

How about when you foil your bowl you leave some extra so you can fold it up and make a saucer for the coals to fall into should they slide.

Ive never heard of that, ill look up what your saying and do some research but what exactly do you mean obstruction of view? Isn't it the equivalent to smoking a cigarette in your car? When im driving I try not to use it and keep it just for looks..and use it in between classes.

Great idea actually biggrin.gif that would do the job.

I know what you mean now, I guess it would be smart of me to put it in my trunk or somewhere secure when im in a "very populated" area.

Looks like a good idea - but I would be worried about the weight of the QT pulling off the mirror...they're only epoxied on. I just put a windscreen/chimney on mine and closed the cage, put it on the floor of the car...works great.

There are statutes in many states that make it illegal to have the driver's field of vision (the windshield) obstructed. By having your hookah hanging from your rearview, it is in the middle of your field of view and makes you more prone to getting into an accident

First off what they were saying about obstruction of view has nothing to do with smoke or smoking. It has everything to do with having a hookah hanging from your rear view mirror and blocking your view according to the law.

Also that weight will eventually pull your mirror off and it will likely happen when there is a brand new coal on the top and in rush hour traffic.

For smoking hookah in the car i would suggest either a leila or just setting the cage on the floor of the car.

Cool setup, but like others have said i'd be very careful with the weight of that on something just stuck to your windshield.

Haha! That is so flippin' sweet! I would hate to have to explain that one to the cops. Plus, you are a brave man to be putting coals on that swinging death trap, what if one flies off and lands right in your crotch!? shok.gif

That is awesome, I do the same thing in my car all the time. The only difference is I wrap the seatbelt in the cage and use on of those lock top bowls so the coal never falls. It works great for long road trips or just cruising with a bunch of friends. iroc-front-green-stripes.gif

I like that idea better than free-rolling it on the rear view mirror. Driving while smoking hookah is dangerous enough, dont do something that will likely get you into an accident that could kill you faster than the smoking does.

Yeah like I said before I don't literally smoke it while im driving everywhere, but my 30 minute breaks between class it's nice to have a pre packed bowl of shisha to smoke for a few friends and chill somewhere heh. I wouldn't hang it there if I thought it wasn't sturdy enough to get the job done trust me haha! The QT is light enough with not to much water that it is fine.

It was a nice idea , not for everyday driving though tongue.gif

thats why I have a leila as well...
The reason for not having it hanging is that a cop can pull you over for anything. a hookah can be used for illegal activities so of course they will check it.

Didn't even know that existed until you mentioned it. Pretty nifty and looks pretty portable to.
