Polix
Ok I recently went out and purchased a 130 hookah with my roomate and it said that it was hand made in Romania. Im not sure on the quality, but it seems decent. My problem, is that I want to buy a nice hose. The one that came with it has wooden tips and what seems to be pleather as the actual hose. Today I got a cobra hose, but the tube itself is once again made out of this pleather like material. Can anyone point me to a great hookah site where I can purchase good quality accessories as well as tobacco. I currently buy from hookah and shisha central and I have no idea whether or not this is a good site. Also I was wondering how good Romman tobacco is. Ive seen lots of posts that its the highest quality tobacco on the market now, but I was just wondering what everyone thought of this. And I was wondering what is a good set of coals. I dont like self lighting at all, and quick lighting are ok, but me and my roommate use lemon regular coals, which I really like. Is there a specific brand that everyones happy with? pavlakos_politakos
pleather is not bad at all(how do you know its pleather and not leather anyway?),it does its job just as good leather.also im pretty sure MYA hoses are pleather.ive never tried romman so cant help you there, but for the coals,i agree, nours are great, but lately ive just been buying bulk natural coals.as someone once said(mushrat maybe?)theyre just chunks of trees.in fact with some of them you can still make out a branch or twig.they do their job wonderfully and are cheap.dont forget that theyre natural so that means no lighting agents, harmful chemicals, etc.they also take a little longer to light. dizzing
mya's site says their hoses are made with leather. however, i'm guessing it's probably pleather, because i don't think leather hoses would be quite so washable. i don't know.
Polix
Thx for all the info. One more question is what is better than aluminum foil? Ive read some people hate to use foil. I have a metal screen that I tried once, but it worked horribly.. maybe because I didnt do it right. Does foil work just as good as anything else, and does a wind cover give a better burn when used indoors?
dizzing
foil allows better heat transfer than screens, or at least that's the general consensus. i haven't noticed a significant difference, it just changes the way you have to apply coal. and windcovers, when used indoors, tend to insulate better, allowing more heat to stay in the bowl. if you usually use foil, then a screen + a windcover might do alright to replicate the effect. your results may vary. you can get good ones no matter what you do, though. yashman19
Romman is just nahkla's premium, and to be honest, I don't think its at all worth the beefed up price... There are definately other brands out there that are very much worth their price, such as Fahker or Al Amir... If you stick to Romman, you will find your wallet empty in a matter of weeks... DarbyFett
the only Romman ive tried is peach and im not a huge fan of the spicey bite that it has. Smells great though.
pavlakos_politakos
wind cover will pretty much provide insulation and keep more heat in.so it wont necessarilly give a better burn, that is depending on how much coal youve got on the head.and unless youve got a pyrex bowl which comes with one of those odd looking glass screens, metal screens or foil are your choices....unless theres something else out there that ive never heard of. Sonthert
Romania? Do you find your hookah roaming around by the light of the full moon, drinking blood!?! I like Japanese coals and leather hoses. If Mya hoses say they're leather and washable, I would guess they're coated on the inside, which makes them being made out of leather completely superfluous, but from what I've heard, Mya is good quality.I think Romman is made by the Al Waha company, all Jordanese, while Nahkla is Egyptian. Al waha has my respect for their business practices, some companies, you order a 250g unit and end up 40g short, not Al Waha. The first company to make tobacco in tubs. Before that, tobacco just came in cardboard boxes or in absurd fragile plastic cases. Honest, established. I do agree with Yash, for the price, I think you can o better with AL Fahker or Al Amir, depending on your tastes.
Sonthert
Oh, yeah if you try Japanese coals, make sure they're not "Japanese Style" They should say made in Japan.

mushrat
Romman is damn good...the peach is the best of the candy ma'asell peaches in my humble opinion. I use screens exclusivly and have no troubles at all. If you are in the us try a spencer's gifts in your closest mall..you can get mya washable hoses there for about 9 bucks. no waiting.
