I am opening a bar next summer in N Phoenix. smile.gif

I like the bar on 32nd St and Union Hills. Tempe has a few around the campus area.

You're opening a bar in N Phoenix? Awesome? Where at?? What corner of 32nd st and Union Hills is a hookah bar? I live only a few miles away from that area.

www.hookahculture.com has a decent list of lounges/bars in between Tempe and NW Phx.

Omar's Hookah Lounge by ASU West is OK. There's no food there but there is a fridge with drinks. $9 to smoke Al Fakher.
That 70's Shop is at 7th st and Camelback is nice but small. Selections include Fusion and Pharoah's. Unsure on price though.
The Station at 19th st and McDowell is good. He uses KMs for the lounge. Layalina, Al Masah, and Pharoahs.

The rest of the bars I know of are in Tempe and South Scottsdale.

I looking to open my bar in north scottsdale, or NE phoenix.

The hookah bar on 32nd is right by the movie theatre, by the music store.

The one at 32nd st and Bell Rd? That one closed down last year sometime. Unless they re-opened?

If you could open a hookah bar somewhere by Desert Ridge that'd be a real money making spot.

PhxKarma, where do you go for your supplies?

That is what I meant, on bell. They closed down? I have not been there in like 2 years so I was not sure.

I should rent that place out! The place used very shitty shisha and crappy hookahs though, I don't want that rep. Edited by PhxKarma

If you went in that location I think you could do well with the movie theatre right next door. Like you said, you just have to use good products.

These days I don't ever go to the lounges/bars because my selection at home trumps whatever selection a local bar has. But if there was a lounge with good selection, service, and price, you'd bet you @ss i'd be there.

I plan on using high qualiy shisha and hookahs then he had, I think he used Nakhla for most of his stuff.

I did like how he had the section with the couches and curtains, I want something like that in my place.

That location is too large for me though, it would work better as a pool-only location, not a hookah bar honestly.

I found a good spot near 7th St and Bell I want to use.

7th st and Bell is a high traffic area as well. Are you thinking about near the Super Target?

No, the location I was looking at was actually closer to greenway, right by the Wendys, near Streets of New York Pizza, know the area?

If not there, there is some other places I am considering. By the time I am ready to open, I am sure none of these places will even be open, but it's nice to look now. smile.gif

If you come by when we open, you will see my face a lot, I am going to work til close 6 nights a week. My fiancee will be working a lot too on the weekends, free labor!

I just started planning this recently, I want to give myself enough time to do market research (go to hookah bars) and do a lot of research.

I am shooting to open by next summer, maybe Feb 2010 if I am lucky.

There is a hookah bar in Phoenix called 70's Smoke Shop, best hookah l have have smoked in Arizona. I have been to almost every single hookah bar in the Phoenix and tempe area. If you have any questions about a hookah bar I can probably answer them. 70's shop is small but very affordable and high quality shisha and hookahs. Best hookahs in Phoenix. If you are looking to buy a hookah get it there. The owner is extremely nice and offers great deals for hookah and its accessories. They are located on 7th street and Camleback right by the Dennys and Samurai Comics. Go there, enjoy a few bowls and tell me what you think.
