Toxik916
ok so I just packed a bowl of tangiers cocoa. I packed the hell out of it and I'm using two coco's. It is kinda tricky but after a few sessions I think I'll be able to get it going right. The smoke is a little harsh but I think its because I didnt acclimate it. I had the shisha for a few months unoppened and figured it would be cool to just load on the boowl but I was wrong. I'm getting some hints of flavor but I know it can be so much better.heres some pics I just want to see if I packed enough shisha and if my hole pattern would work. I did two circles with a tooth pick and just put a few random holes where I thought I needed more.

dafunk5446
Looks good to me, and I hope you didnt like other brands of shisha, cause your not going to want to smoke them anymore...well short of nakhla. As for the holes, they look good to me. I dont think holes work the same every where, cause when I use lots of holes, big or small, it always ends up harsh and nasty. This could, however, also be related to what coals you use.
wilarseny
I now pack my tangiers this way as well--switched over from the n00b method a while ago on mdl's suggestion--and the only way I can get it to work well is by using gigantic holes. If you want to be a purist just cover the entire bowl in fork-sized holes, or how I'll do it is 8 inside/16 outside holes using a single fork prong on a small phunnel, or 12/24 on a medium. mdl
The packing looks good toxic. Glad to see more Sacto people on here.
Bulldog_916
Hey Matt, nice to see you back on here. I only see you in little bits here and there. I'm trying to plan a trip to SD on my spring break. Granted, its like 3 months away, but better to be prepared right? Check your PMs, I'm sending a small request. cypherkk
I got tangiers a long time ago, was thinking on it again. however I had a problem with it.I got it to smoke great at the beginning but after a week or two the flavors be came bland and I could only taste the tobacco at best.I stored it in gladlock containers, mixed every time before packing and kept in the bathroom cupboard. Any suggestions if I try to get it again?
coplinb
Man, I need to just hurry up and try this stuff already! If its half as good as everyone says it is, I think I might like it.
AmunRa
You got everything right, except the acclimation part. Do that for a few hours, and you're golden. Also, Tangiers can be harsh if you don't have enough heat. Counter to all previous hookah knowledge, I know...I use two coals like you did, but I usea wind cover, too. You may want to experiment with that. Otherwise, you're on the road to success. Tangiers is awesome stuff!
soldier92
I just popped open my Tangiers cherry too, it smells wonderful... Oh, that's not what you meant....But really this stuff is great, I still don't have a handle on managing heat on OG but lucid is great.
mdl
QUOTE (cypherkk @ Jan 28 2009, 03:56 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>and kept in the bathroom cupboard. Any suggestions if I try to get it again?Unless you're smoking in the bathroom I'd suggest not keeping it there. I don't know what your bathroom is like but mine goes through a lot of humidity changes because of showering and the general dampness of it. Did you acclimate the tobacco (leave it out in the room your smoking in for a few hours) before smoking? If not, then give that a try next time.
