Now I'm kinda scared. Scared that I'll only be able to use it on special occasions when I don't mind using 60+ grams at a time. This should be interesting. The Dude Abides Posted March 7, 2006 Share Posted March 7, 2006 Actually I should have been more prepared for what I was getting into with the "premium large" since hookahcompany warns of it's massive size. I was just hopeful that I could get away with only using 30-40 grams at a time, which is fine by me because i use that much when I change the normal-sized bowl 2 or 3 times per session. Copy that link and past it. I forgot that the link you copy already has url tags, so nevermind that one And if that doesn't work, maybe you have some sort of forum setting not allowing you to upload pictures maybe? c4r80n Posted March 7, 2006 Author Share Posted March 7, 2006 The bowl isn't really that shallow....i'll messure it later as I am now smoking out of it. I'm guessing .5" to .75" deep in the center.It smokes well, but it makes the hookah louder. I put on a diffuser too. I suppose if I filled the whole bowl of tobacco there would be less noise. Sonthert Posted March 8, 2006 Share Posted March 8, 2006 That bowl is Black/Oasis Green (Hookah Company calls it forest green, but they don;t carry my forest green, so its OK). The blue color in the middle is actually what happens when the green mixes with the black. The standard depth of the medium bowl is 16mm, or .63 inches, or like the man said, between 1/2 and 3/4. No Yash, I don't think Tangiers would design a crappy bowl. The small bowl design was easy, I just ripped off Kishawi for the top and then designed the body around it. The medium bowl took approximately 100 hours of work on the design and at least a dozen prototypes. I'm glad you like it, sir. I look at these pictures with my bowls in, and I'm, I can't decribe it, honored? Yes, but also...hmmm...gratified. Gratified to know that you like my products. The Dude Abides Posted March 8, 2006 Share Posted March 8, 2006 I got my large Tangiers bowl today. Holy God it looks like what would happen if a cereal bowl had sex with a spaghetti strainer. It makes my 31" hookah look like a Soviet-made RPG. I am seriously impressed to say the least, and am ready for the 3 hour session that awaits me this evening when I fill the bowl about half-way with probably 80 or so grams of al Waha Cola. The Dude Abides Posted March 8, 2006 Share Posted March 8, 2006 Wow. Everyone should own one of these massive Tangiers bowls. Period. I experimented with it this evening with both a smalli-sh amount of ma'assel (20 grams) and also with a large amount (about 60 grams). It smokes perfectly either way. What I love the most is the great expanse of territory on which to move around my ill-fitting natural bulk coals, always able to find a fresh new patch of ma'assel when need be. When I loaded the larger amount, I sat back with my neighbor and was able to have a very enjoyable experience for more than two hours without changing the bowl or having to add more ma'assel. Since I have a little portable burner and coal pot on a low table right next to my chairs I didn't have to get up the entire time except to add fresh coals every 25 mins or so and to make a new pot of tea. I loved it. It draws excellently--not too much, and without restriction. The ma'assel burned evenly, and the smoke was fluffy and thick but completely light. I can thank the al Fakher for that I'm sure, but I find that with the regular sized bowls I have a lot more difficulty maintaining the right smoke consistency. Not this time, however, and I can attest that fact to the new head. This is an essential pick-up, and I'll definitely be getting another one for my other hookah. Its filled with whatelse but all the leftover tangiers raspberry ive got after pretty much demolishing my 250g pack. I think this thing prolly holes a few kilos of tobacco. I started to get it going before i realized my foil doesnt fit over it, why didnt you check this out first Tangiers? gah man.
