Giant Ninja Robot Posted January 31, 2009 Share Posted January 31, 2009 I don't know if price has much to do with my idea of "overrated".To me that means overhyped and for me it would have to be Al Fakher, don't get me wrong some of their flavors are great but not nearly as many as get AMAZING reviews in the review section. I dont think i have really seen any decent reviews that said it was just a good brand. pretty much all of them are like its best thing since sliced bread. At the risk of being banhammered by an overzealous mod I'd also say that Tangiers is very much overrated. Sure it smokes well, and gives some little buzz, and they've definitely got some great flavors going... but it's not the indisputable king of the shisha world like many make it out to be. I've honestly never gotten much buzz from it, and I've had a couple batches that just plain didn't have any noteworthy flavor no matter how I acclimated them. I even tried different houses, humidors, outside, you name it. I'll keep buying Tangiers, as I do like it (esp. K-peach and Orange Soda) but yinz guys aughta chill down on the hype. If you think a brand is overrated im sure some people can reccommend some flavors to try. I thought fusion was overrated until i tried a couple flavors that Mattarios gave good reviews, and while it isnt my favorite brand it certainly changed my opinion. I guess as far as overrated shishas go I have to say Starbuzz, Fantasia (which I used to enjoy), and Romman simply for the price tag associated with each. Companies couldn't charge that much for them as they do if people weren't buying them. I'm well aware that AF has had its issues but I've enjoyed every bowl of AF I've had so far. And as far as Tangiers goes I have loved everything I've tried from them but had I not stumbled onto Hookahforum I would have been completely screwed. Edited January 31, 2009 by Capt. Also fantasia, used to be one of my favorites, now it's just over priced chemicals im.I don't know why SB is such a popular one to say it's "over-rated" yes i agree the price is a bit ridic, but some flavors such as white peach, and tangerine dream are well wroth the money to me.
