Shisha Gone Bad!

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

New to the forum and I've got issues! (more than this thread will cover, but you'll find that out later)

I recently moved from CA to NC. When I did, my shisha went bad! I keep my Shisha in glass, air-tight jars in a cabinet in my home. For some reason when I got here, my shisha took on a strong, sort of menthol odor and flavor.

While temps are different here, my house is a controlled climate, so I think I'd be ok.

Can anyone out there tell me what's going on?

it depends on the brand, but it could be a humidity shock. Just let it sit open for a couple of days and see if that helps.

Wow! That's really possible? I did let it sit open in the fridge for a couple days. At first nothing happened. Then, left it open in fridge and stirred it several times a day. Problem is unless I keep doing this, it keeps going bad.

This is about the only thing you can do really, let it acclimate until the smell returns to normal.

Did you happen to pack them in boxes with any other funky product while you were moving, like alcohol or any chemicals, because if that's the case and the seal wasn't perfect your shisha could have picked up some odors/flavors somewhere along the way.

Edit: I wouldn't keep it in the fridge, it can't acclimate to the surrounding humidity then. Leave it out in the general area of where you plan on smoking. Edited by Hobbs

Ugh, that's the mistake. When shisha gets cold it can spoil some flavors, and cold + altered humidity of a fridge just isn't good. Best to just leave all your shisha out open on a table/counter for a while. Check it every now and then to see if it's smelling better, most brands should acclimate within a few hours no problem.

No, I didn't pack it, drove it in the truck with me so I could smoke along the way. It was all good when I first arrived. Went bad after about a month or so. I guess I may just have to deal with it over here?
