JDHarding
I've been through the shisha reviews section, and I can't really make up my mind. The reviews don't exactly help much, either, since there's 1,000+ of them.I got about $100 to spend on shisha next month. I've tried Al Fahker and think it has a very weak taste, so I'm wondering what I should get next. I like Watermelon flavors, lemonaide, sour apples, and mostly really sweet fruit type flavors. I also don't care if I get a buzz or not. I just want some good tasting and smelling stuff.I plan on getting a small phunnel bowl and the mod for it. I also plan on getting a nammor hose. I haven't decided on whether to get the glass screen mod for the phunnel, or continue using foil. I also plan on getting a wind cover too. I'm sick of Golden quicklights, so I also plan on getting some of John's CH Quicklight coals, and maybe a box of Coco Naras too. All these things are not part of the $100 shisha fund. Starbuzz watermelon is pretty good but costly, Tangiers watermelon is better but I don't like the buzz so I picked up some Lucid Watermelon myself. For 100 bucks you could get all the stuff you wanted and 250g x 3 flavors of Tangiers or Tangiers Lucid from Hookahjohn.com save the glass mod. Hobbs
I missed the part where you said all the extra stuff wasn't part of your $100 shisha fund. If you plan on smoking 24/7 you can throw in some Nakhla in with the Tangiers to fill the gaps. I've had a few fruity Fusion flavors and they're all pretty sweet with a good amount of flavor. Avoid Black Berry, and check out Cactus Pear if you go that route.

AKammenzind
If you like sweet flavors you should try Layalina and Al Waha. Both have a good many sweet fruity flavors, and are pretty solid shisha brands... pretty cheap too.Nakhla is always great as well, for your tastes I'd have to recommend especially Peach, and Sweet Melon... those two are definite must-haves for sweet flavors. ryno
For a sour apple flavor, try Fusion's sour apple, and some of their other fruit flavors. As for other shishas, I'd get nakhla and Layalina
JDHarding
Wow. Thanks for all the advice. So Tangiers Lucid ('cause I don't like the buzz either), Starbuzz (if I can afford it), Nahkla, Fusion, and some boxes of Layalina and Al Waha are my best bet? Or should I stick to just tins/jars? The stuff out of the 50g boxes seems dry. Edited January 31, 2009 by JDHarding
mattarios2
You don't necessarily have to agree with everything or call it quits after people gave some advice, I mean everyone gave good advice but try out some brands, I def recommend Nakhla, Fusion, and Tangiers Lucid like others have stated but for me I am not a big fan of Al Waha or Layalina. Like I said try some 50g of every brand and see what you like. And yes if you are looking for a good sour apple Fusion is prob your best bet. NIGHTS OF BAGHDAD
if you want to get the most for your money and not skimp on quality id look into nakhla...they are really good in my opinion especially for the money around $5-$7 for a 250g box..also look into tangiers..a bit pricey but from what ive read very worth it al fakher is not bad..there mint is incredibly wonderful and so is there cappuccino..but you really gotta like coffe type drinks to like the cappuccino..the af watermelon i liked has well..if you want do what i did..get a bunch of 50g packs and test out the flavors they are real cheap.. JDHarding
I'm gonna try Tangiers Watermelon and Fusion Sour Apple (for my pricier shishas), and fill up on a lot of different Nakhlas 'cause the price is reasonable for the amount. joytron
if you are getting a phunnel bowl you should just make your own windcover. If you tried AF watermelon and didnt like it then i would not try starbuzzes, they taste really similiar. I would suggest trying a bunch of different brands and seeing which ones you like. And a $100 will get you a lot of shisha, so dont fear the sampler packs!
JDHarding
I didn't try the AF watermelon. The store was sold out of it.I tried Apple, Lemon, Pineapple, and Melon.AF Lemon was sour, and tasted like a lemon, like lemon should be. Overall it was okay, but not very strong flavored.AF Apple was.. NOT apple. Didn't even taste like apple gum.AF Pineapple and AF Melon were both equally nasty and didn't taste like Pineapple or Melon.
JDHarding
What about trying AF in the 250g tubs? I can get Watermelon (for $11) in a tub instead of the Starbuzz (for $20) stuff. I hear tubs/tins/jars are usually better and juicier.

JDHarding
Well yeah I'll most likely get the little boxes first, try them, and then decide. But the 50g boxes I tried are crossed off my list. Yeeeeuck.Though if you like Lemon, and sour lemon, try the AF Lemon. It's really very lemony, but not sweet tasting at all. Just sour. Like biting into a lemon, but not THAT intense.AF, Al Waha, and Layalina all have so many flavors it would cost quite a bit to try them all.Just looked through all the coal reviews. Seems the Golden quicklights are the best choice for quicklights. I'm still not sure I want to stay with them, though. They do stink a bit when lit. Unless the ones I got are not goldens. NIGHTS OF BAGHDAD
i use the 3kings 33mm QL's and the stink is not that bad and only sticks around for about 20 seconds..
joytron
I would suggest jonhs QL's i liked them quite a bit more than 3 kings,Just list some brands that you want to try and we will post up some flavors. BTW i think Af pineapple is the worst flavor i have ever smoked, but make sure to try mint and watermelon
kbCorruption
Fantasia has some really sweet flavors and it is a little cheaper than Starbuzz. I would recommend their pink lemonade and blueberry. The pink lemonade is a really sweet/sour lemon flavor and the blueberry tastes/smells like fruity pebbles. AF has an awesome watermelon flavor if you like sweet flavors; tastes/smells like watermelon bubblegum. Like everyone said, pick out some 50g samples of flavors that sound good to you. It's hard to tell if you will like a flavor even if you like a different flavor from the same brand. Like with AF, some of their fruity flavors taste candyish while others taste more natural and are more subtle.
ElijahSing
Nakhla is $5 for 250g's from hookah company i think..I just ordered like 1000 g's and its really good stuff, i'd go for that, and maybe some tangiers since youre getting the phunnel
JDHarding
I've heard from some reviews that Nakhla is harsh and has a bad flavor, which is why it's so cheap. Is this true?
