ghunfrytimma
hey just got my 25'' stargate in the mail...and im gettin ready to break it in....for those of you that own one of these can you tell me where you've found the best place for the water level to be at? thanks
ApoC
for most open stem hookahs, the ideal depth of stem is between 1/2"-1".
yashman19
Well everyone will tell you 1" above the bottom of the stem, but I have found that the Stargate can be tricky. If you do it a bit too high, then water will bubble up into the hose. Just guess and test, and eventually you will get the right level down. Thats what I did. Also, I've been using diffusers on all my hookahs for about half a year now, and using a diffuser on the Stargate really helps, because instead of the large bubbles, you get a ton of itty bitty ones, and this will pretty much make your water level good wherever. ghunfrytimma
thanks yash..this is the reason why i asked the question in the first place....
ApoC
yea you definitely need to be careful about the water height in stargates, my diffuser fixed this since it bottoms out in the base, meaning less water can be used. not to mention, as yash pointed out, less water being thrown around because it bubbles more evenly/smoothly. yashman19
thanks yash..this is the reason why i asked the question in the first place....
Maybe I should have been a bit more clear. You need to guess and test. I can't really give you an exact measurment of how deep my stem goes into the water because the curved plexiglass sort of makes it hard to see exactly inside. Then I also reccomended adding a difusser, which would make a water level not important. Sorry for all my mis-information.
HookahDuck
I've been using a diffuser I made for a while now too on my SG. Before that, Putting the water right at the level of the plexiglass window seemed to work best.
