DrShisha
Hey people. My friend just bought me a fresh batch from his little trip to Cairo. However when i loaded the bowl straight from opening the package, it was NASTY (But smelt amazing).....any tips on packing, preparation etc. I NEED to smoke a good bowl of this! Not just waste it on experimenting and get it right when its finished! I understand theres a couple of similar threads somewhere, but i thought id have a topic as im going to give it another shot in 3 hours. ryno
What type of bowl and coals are you using?I usually smoke Nakhla out of an egyptian head, and then I just fluff it in till its at the top of the bowl, put foil on, and make many many holes with a t-pin or a thumbtack. Its gonna have a licorice/anise taste to it, but once it starts smoking, I think it dies down some.. I will say though, DA is my least favorite shisha to start in a hookah

Balthazar
I know a lot of people will tell you that Nakhla doesn't need any acclimation, but for me this has given great results. Mainly because my containers are air-tight, I acclimate the tobacco for at lest two hours before I start my sessions. With DA I find this crucial, if I don't acclimate it properly it'll end up tasting nothing but anise. I know there's supposed to be a strong anise flavor there, but those who has managed to get the tobacco right will be able to confirm that Nakhla DA also tastes like apple. So yeah, maybe try acclimating it a little. I pack it in a phunnel, semi-tight.
Johnny_D
Fully agree with the aclimation advice. Stir it up like crazy and let it settle.JD
