Logging out problems

Recommended Posts

I know a lot of you guys have been having problems with the forum
logging you out and in as a guest, and for me, I've discovered a way to
cope with this problem...

Well one day I finally noticed that the forum was logging me out
whenever I clicked on a page to a thread that wasn't the first page.
For example in any thread that has gone over one page and onto two, if
I try to go from the lobby and click on the 2 box, it logs me out...

This is the only time my puter has issues with logging itself out, when
clicking on anything besides the first page.. You guys should check
this out if you haven't noticed it already, and one way to avoid this
is to just click on the actual thread, and then if you want to go to
the other pages just click on the different pages once you are in the
thread. This seems to not log me out... Sort of annoying I know, but
atleast you don't have to re-log in.

Is this the case for anyone else? Or do you guys have logging out problems that isn't through this?

If anyone has any tips which solved your logging out problem, share
them here as I'm sure there are a lot of people who would love to hear
them ;)

Thats what I was afraid of. Hmm, guess my logging out problem might be
different from everyone elses. Its weird, I never get logged out any
other time except for the reason mentioned above.

Well this thread may still be of use if others can explain what their logging out problems are, or even how they fixed em.

mine acts seemingly at random, just like the chat window clearing and  everything.  in fact, i think it's all related somehow.  there's some horrible abomination of cookies and scripting that combines to wreak havoc on the entire forum whenever things regarding users logged in and whatnot get "just so".... at least that's my theory.  which isn't much of a theory at all, really.  i have no f**king clue what's going on with this fourm

As for the chat window clearing, I just assumed that was because it
clears on a timer? I didn't even think cookies were playing a part in
the chat, but ya, good point, it could be...

So no ones noticed getting logged out when clicking on second, third etc pages? Thats the only time I get logged out.

i've noticed that when clicking on 2nd/3rd/etc pages, the "unread messages" flag doesn't get cleared properly.  sometimes i get mildly confused when i'm going through all the unread posts :)and the chat defintely doesn't clear on a timer, there doesn't seem to be any sort of regular pattern like that.  i've seen it take an hour to clear, then clear twice in 3 minutes.  *shrug*.

Actually, I think its whenever you change pages on the command bar on the top left. You get access to one or two, but then try a different box (like one in a thread or the memberships under the chat box) and it asks you to log in again. I don;t have a problem, I've got the old girl running as smoothly as I could expect.

Ok, here's what I have now noticed with Safari. You tell it to log in automaticly, but it looks like you still need to log in each time, right?Well, I can click the forum button, go into the forum, and I'll be logged in, even though the opening page still says Welcom, Guest! Can we please, please, pretty please switch to vBulletin?
