JDHarding
As I suspected, even though I thought my hose was washable it wasn't. Now it's metal coil is completely rusted, and yet I still smoked out of it 5 or so times. I wonder if I'm going to get rust poisoning. Are real cloisonne hoses washable? I think this one was a knockoff.
supersubby
i don't think they are washable.. i think you need an upgrade... or turn it into one of those cool see through pipe hoses

Victim026
The only hoses on the market that are washable are the Grand, Razan, and Nammor. All others use the metal coils and regardless of wether they say they are washable are not, they truly are not. You won't get rust poisoning, unless you were sucking down chunks every hit and you didn't stop yourself.

Everything so far hasn't been flexible enough and holds it's looped shape, need to find something that won't kink but is flexible.
JDHarding
Silicone tubing.. very squishy and flexible and doesn't usually kink. They use it as turnakits (sp?) in hospitals. I had some for tubing on a fish tank once. Nice stuff. Pricey, though.Well.. pricier than the cheap plastic stuff. Maybe $1 per foot? But it's pretty strong stuff. K1024
i think i have a solution for this:use the tiny airline tubing found in fish tanks, but instead of one hose use like 4.that way they maintain their flexibility and still have a big draw. im going to try this eventually. Capt. Morgan
Where can you find silicone tubing? So far everything I've found has been too heavy, not flexible enough, or both.

blastoffbrett
While we're on the topic of DIY hoses I was wondering if anyone has done it with a KM deluxe. Mine has seen better days and I want to keep using it, just not at its current state.

I bought around 6 of these multi-coloured hoses specialy made fo hookah. To rinse them out takes a half minute, and less to dry, so if you smoked something pungent like mint, you can wash it out. I am planning on using the hose that comes with it and then going to Lowe's and getting some of their clear rubber tubing used in making beer "toys" and trying it on the hookah, see which I like better. I have bought it before when making beer toys and it is usually only a few dollars, so nbd.

The problem with it was it wanted to stay coiled up which made it really easy to pull over my hookah since it has a really wobbly base. Its possible that the hose I got was too thick but I'm looking for something lighter. I'm assuming that the silicone tubing JDHarding talked about was something different. And nice use of the term "beer toys" never heard them called hat before. I don't know if I would have had to take one or not, but might as well play it safe. Well, you have to be careful when you buy it, the stuff I am talking about comes in a huge roll and they cut you off the length you need. That is the part you need to be extra careful with; if it is closer to the end of the roll, it will be coiled pretty bad because the roll diameter is smaller the closer to the center it is, not to mention it has been stuck in that tightly wound position for a long ass time. If you try it agian, try to get a piece from a newer roll, it won't be nearly as coiled.
Capt. Morgan
The stuff I had picked up came in a pre-cut 10 ft coil. Guess I'm just gonna have to make a trip out to lowes and look around until I find what I need.
delSol_si
I think most of the time it is by the section you find the huge ass carpet rolls, lamenant (sp), astroturf, and other stuff that you can get custom lengths cut off of. I think it is also where they have the huge rolls of wire you can get cut to specification. When my KM gets in, I will go get some of what I am talking about (have to measure the hose port on the KM first to find the right adaptor or whatever I may need to get it to fit) so you have a better idea. I'll take a picture of the roll they have and then the piece I get. Also, it won't work this time of year, but I have left my toy in my car before during the summer and noticed that the heat in the car from the sun makes the hose a lot more flexible, might try that when summer comes around. I also kinda figured with this specific material, it should be safe since people drink beer funneling through it all the time, or at least I did until I got too lazy and just chug the bottle/can. Man, those days were fun, I remember being able to drink like 3-4 beers in a matter of like a couple seconds.
