Stuie
So I just got some Golden Layalina, and I was looking at the ingredients on the tin and it dawned on me....Red Dye might really be Corn SyrupJust a thought. Ingredients said "Tobacco, Syrup, Glycerin, Flavors." I was like what kind of syrup? And this stuff is blood red and it hit me fake movie blood is Corn Syrup and it can dye your skin. (watch the extra's on The Haunting).Think that's what it is?

Stuie
Corn Syrup mixed with Glycerin will thin it out. But you might be right. Just a theory I was throwing out there.
inino
it could be a sweetener too. the thing that trips me out the most is when you get different colors of the same flavor. ive gotten green red and neon green layalina mint. and ive gotten undyed and red pineapple layalina. AKammenzind
Every time I see one of these threads, it makes me want to become an hero. /sighI just don't see what the fuss is about dyed shisha, I've never noticed anything different in the taste or feel vs. non-dyed. NiceAndBlue
I dare anyone on here to perform a double-blind abx test on dyed versus un-dyed shisha, and I seriously doubt that anyone could identify them. Its all placebo effect. also, corn syrup is clear with a yellow tinge. Fake blood in movies is made with corn syrup and red dye.

jfaltous
I'm quite sure that Tonic uses red dye in some of their flavors, for example Jello Shots. After mixing up the shisha and packing a bowl I have to scrub by fingers to get it off, and even then it will still leave a red tint on them for a couple days. Only ever had that problem with Tonic though. Starbuzz has never given me any problems like that, and I haven't tried Golden Layalina yet... mattarios2
I think a pretty good indicator of how much coloring is in there is by if it stains your hands or not. AF and Layalina both stained me, Fusion did not, except for their lemon mint which was green and their blueberry which was ... ehh neon blue !?
