Problems With Fantasia

I'm having problems getting this tobacco to smoke well. I get thin harsh smoke and some flavor, but the flavor isn't great, it's rather weak. I have a small funnel bowl, how should I pack this stuff? It's even wetter than tangiers is so I'm a bit confused. Any help with packing/heat tips for fantasia would be appreciated, I did do a search but nothing useful came up.

Fantasia is always quite wet in my experience, but don't think that you should pack it like Tangiers because of that

Pack it the same as you would any other non-Tangiers brand... fluff it up, and pack it to the top of the bowl. If you leave a big gap between the shisha and the foil, you'll get thin and harsh smoke. As ebarnes suggested, use more heat on the bowl if you can't get it going well. Typically with Fantasia on a small/med phunnel I'd use 2 x 1/3 exoticas, or 3 x 1/4 exoticas, or 3 x coconaras, or 3 x silvers, or 3 x 1/2 QLs. But that's just me

i probably should have explained more.

When I smoke fantasia I generally use my small phunnel. I put enough tobacco in there where it is just slightly above the rim before putting on the foil.

I typically start with 2 coconaras and about 15-20 minutes flip the coals and put on the windcover and just smoke the crap out of it.

The last time i smoked Fantasia, i was using a med. phunnel, didn't put enough tobacco in and the foil kept getting pulled down covering the hole. Stuck a skewer across the bowl going underneath the foil. Once i fixed that it smoked like a champ. But it smokes very similar to al waha in my opinion, 3 coals (CoCO's or halved Belgian QLs) on my med. phunnel and it gets going nicely

thanks guys, I'll give it another shot this afternoon. I do run in to problems "fluffing" the tobacco though because it is so wet, an ideas on how to get it fluffed up? I'll probably use my small funnel, should I try my tea-lite mod with it or will it do well without a mod?

It will do well without the mod... only use the mod if you want to pack less in there.

Fluffing it up is easy, just get in there with your fingers and pull it all apart. If you don't like getting dirty, I've seen some people on here use nut grinders to fluff up shisha...

Fluffing = Sprinkling.

I can't see why people would grind up fantasia more.. it's already fine enough.. don't want a paste do you? Heh

That's the thing, it's already almost like a paste! Have this problem with some of the pumpkin spice I got, it's literally like a paste, and I can't get it going for the life of me. It clogs egyptian bowls and I can't get it working with my funnel either, but I'm going to give the lemonade another shot in an hour or so.

Sprinkling and fluffing are completely different

You can sprinkle in shisha that's still wrapped up tight, but fluffing it pulls it apart and improves airflow through it. Also, the nut grinders that I've seen wouldn't cut up the shisha much, just pull the pieces apart. It's not like when you put nuts into them they come out as a paste, they just come out in smaller chunks.

Step 1, learn some new word definitions (yay!):

fluff –verb (used with object)
5. to make into fluff; shake or puff out (feathers, hair, etc.) into a fluffy mass (often fol. by up): to fluff up the sofa pillows.

sprinkle –verb (used with object)
1. to scatter (a liquid, powder, etc.) in drops or particles: She sprinkled powder on the baby.


Step 2, learn to read posts instead of skipping over them and repeating yourself for no helpful purpose:

tried it again today, got it smoking fairly well (clouds with fantasia, is it possible?) And the flavor was there, a bit too sweet though for my taste, but all in all it was good. Thanks for all the help guys, best smoke I've ever gotten from a fantasia pack.
