frost91
went to a local shop...had a mya qt with a mya hose. How do i know if its authentic or not? he said it was made from china. I was skeptical. I'm going back nextweek. Anyone have ideas?
AKammenzind
You've been on the forum for most of a year and don't know that they're made in China? Good pipes though, love my QT.
Click
The real MYA QT should have a MYA stamp on the heart of the stem and the hose should be covered in the word "MYA" provided it's a newer QT.
Stuie
A long time ago, Mya actually posted on here where they are made. I am way to tired to search for it...but they from all over. Parts are manufactured in Czech Republic, Romania, Turkey, India and China if I remember correctly.

Peaches09
QUOTE (Victim026 @ Feb 8 2009, 01:44 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>I heard this week that production has been moved from china to romania. as in no more plants in china....That makes sense to me, between 1-2 years ago, the wall street journal had an article about the newly zoned business area in Romania, I believe or another eastern bloc country of sorts, but none the less, extremely lenient business taxes to attract new manufacturers. Good move on Romania and Mya.
hookah hippie
most of myas parts are made in China except for some glass
inino
ya, stuie is right, some pieces are made all over. you can tell a real mya from a fake one in about 10 seconds if you look carefully at it. the fake one just looks cheap.
AmunRa
Most say Myas are from China, and that is mostly true. The bases are blown in C.R. I think.
supersubby
a good way to determine if its fake or not is by weight surprisingly. mya qts are thick and slightly heavy for a hookah of its size the knock offs are really light and almost hollow.
