Fake Nakhla?

Recommended Posts

Is there a way to know if you have counterfeit shisha? I mean, I've been checking out prices online, and Nakhla seems to be a bit more expensive than what I buy it for - I get 5€ for a 250 g packet and 1,5 € for a 50 g packet. I've read about checking the wrapping for the band and all, but I think here in Portugal they remove the original wrap to place those "Smoking is bad for you, kill you, cause impotence and what not" stickers, then re-wrap it, when they import it. So, could you post pictures of real Nakhla shisha, so that I can compare it to mine, or post some other method of checking for fakes?

Yeah, that's why I wanted pictures of real Nakhla. Because the only other shisha I can buy here is Wazir, and although I'm a big fan of Nakhla, it *is* a world of a difference between the two. Wazir grape, especially, is amazing. That left me wondering, you know... Edited by jhanzair

No idea, really. But I think you could get it online cheaper. I live in Portugal, and I buy it for around 8€ a 50 g box ohmy.gif (they raised the price with the new year, I'm not sure how much it is, but it used to be €6,5) so it would probably get quite expensive :/

give us some pics from box all closed up to outer wrapping then inner wrapping then the shisha itself.

Not sure on the price conversion. i looked up Portugal and i dont think u guys use the euro? maybe you do.

Many shops actually sell it cheaper than online. i can get 250g here pretty cheap. anywhere from $5 - $8 is pretty good.

They do, but only pictures of the box. The box does seem the same though. I was talking about pictures of the shisha itself. But nevermind - I'm taking pictures right now, I'll post them in a minute, so you can say what you think.

Well, this is going to be a long post. First, this is the box:

[attachment=2946:caixa1.jpg]

On the sticker it's written "Smoking Kills". Really nice of them to remind us. And you should see the ones on the tobacco-selling machines - huge laugh.gif

[attachment=2947:box_coiso.jpg]

This one reads "Smokers die prematurely". On the top left corner it's the DGAIEC sticker - it's the agency that monitors tobacco and that kind of stuff 'round here. They also stick all these things in cigarette packs, etc.

This is a close-up of the logo

Now, this is inside the box, and it's sealed.

The other side, in arabic.

And this is the plastic in which the shisha itself is wrapped in. It comes inside the yellow sealed bag.

And a couple of pics next to my laptop, so that you can have a size point comparison.

@mushrat - It is sticky, a bit less juicy than Al Wazir, kind of oily, but not quite. Can't really explain better :x

PS - @ EternalSoil - We do have the euro, we were in the first group to adopt it and we are one of the oldest members of the european union smile.gif. I really thought the prices were higher - the online shops I've been seeing (the few european ones) have it for 3-4 € for 50 g usually, which is double what I pay for it :x

That looks real, i just opened up a box of 200 gram nakhla banana by chance and the tobacco's the same and so is the packaging, only the inner bag was transparant grey. 5 euros is a great price, i pay 7.50 for a big box and 5 for 50 grams.

Iv never heard of fake Nakhla. Only Red Seal and Export. Export Quality to me is a bit better in the silver foil whereas Red Seal is just in the plastic transparent wrapping and sometimes is very sub par as not as fresh as Export. Anyhow thats legit to me. Nakhla Jars are the way to go.
