NIGHTS OF BAGHDAD
ok i have a 32'' km precision, before i used to rub moisturizer around the rubber gromet thats on the stem to help stick it in, then last 3 days the smoke has become really warm and no taste at all..i was told theres a good chance its not air tight anymore..and i checked the gromet and if you just gentley grab the stem and move it left or right you can see it coming away from the vase...so i bought a new gromet and it just wont go in the vase..i even used some water on the gromet to help it squeeze in and no go..any suggestions? inino
well the way to test if it air tight it put your thumb over where the bowl would go and suck in. you shouldnt be able to if its airtight. wet paper towel or t shirt strip wrapped around the bottom of the stem could work as a substitute for a grommet
Hippo_Master
Sand paper or a file! Sorry man.You could Teflon tape or Plumber's tape the older one..
cotsi95
or electrical tape under the gromment on the stem then put the old gromment back on.
Kapten Kanel
This kinda reminds me of when my KM arrived and i tried it for the first time, well, the grommet sealed well, maybe a bit too good *proceeds to use violence to remove the stem from the base ending up with me stabbing myself in the stomach with it* Ahh good times

jeremyk
olive oil does wonders for putting the stem in on any km
MechAnt
Just shave it with sandpaper or, what I did, use a box cutter and literally, as evenly as possible, cut it down to size. Then use some sandpaper to even it out. That's what I had to do for my KM and it worked great. BE CAREFUL though. I sliced my finger open

srawas89
I guess go ahead and sand ur grommet and use those suggestions however, if you happen to mess up your grommet and still really want to smoke just get some damp paper towels and wrap it around the stem where the grommet should be and use that instead. To tie off the ends mayb use a bit of tape. I would do that instead of dealing with sanding down grommets and such.
