mitchard
I have never found the need to poke a center hole. Thats a lot of holes. How are you actually packing the tobacco?

camelflage
i pack fairly tight, definitely push it together some. then start from the outside and poke medium holes in a spiral in to the center, but only 1 small hole dead center over the phunnel opening. Hobbs
I also use room temp water, especially with my Lucid ice water kind of kills my flavor.

NIGHTS OF BAGHDAD
QUOTE (mushrat @ Feb 13 2009, 04:49 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>well, if it smells ok then its not humidity shock...air leak or too much coal?well about 5 days ago the gromet on my stem was no good..because i used to use moisturizer to help squeeze it in easy..and i was told that damages the gromet..so i ordered some new gromets and this time im only using water to help get it in..and its a real pain in the ass..yesterday i had it in all the way..and i poped in some starbuzz banana and it was really good..today i got my small tangiers phunnel bowl and the taste is not there..so i switched the tangiers shisha into a vortex..because the first time i smoked it i put it in a vortex and it was great..but again no taste..but im not sure if its cause my stem is not in all the way..id say it still has a little more it needs to go in not sure if this would make the difference..here is a pic..and i just cant seem to squeeze it in that little thats left even when i stand up and put some of my weight on it
modisess
try packing it like you would the OG tangiers, or just change your hose, maybe it's flavor ghosting.
