indian_villager
Ok so I loaned some friends of mine my Mini Mya Acrylic and I just got it back today. There have been signs of mistreatment. The innards of the stem look to be some sort of deep brown. I scrubbed it a couple times and rinsed it out and the water came out brown. It keeps happening. Should I be worried? I thought these things were made of brass. Is my baby hookah ok? My juggernaut seems to be fine.

They probably used a normal bowl, and the juices leaked in!! If you were having a problem, the water would be completely green, but then it wouldn't even be a serious problem. inino
as far as i know myas are made of stainless steel not brass. but keep scrubbing it. it may take a few times but it will come out clear after a few scrubbings. it just shows that your friend never cleaned it and probably smoked it alot. Hippo_Master
QUOTE (indian_villager @ Feb 13 2009, 08:38 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>There was a lil bit of green crap right before i washed it.It's just vertigris. It's kind of like brass rust. Most Mya models are completely brass on the inside, and it's not polished or smoothed, it's just rough and juices and smells stick in the grooves. mattarios2
i use a brash polish that stars with a Z, mushrat recommended it to me but i forgot the name of it, but you can use anything you'd find at walmart ... brasso. If you wanna go home made, drop the hookah in a pot with ketchup fully covering it. Bring the ketchup to a boil, then shut it off, let sit for 10 min or so, then polish it all off. Voila! You can also use hot sauce.

Hippo_Master
I would not sue brass polish on the inside of the stem. The outside of the stem responds well to stainless steel polish though.
indian_villager
Someone on this forum kept talking about using it on the innards to keep it healthy I forget who.
