Tangiers Lucid

Recommended Posts

Hey all, so my Tangiers Lucid (Peach, Watermelon, Blue Gum Ball) all tastes fantastic and has great clouds.. but reading a bunch of the reviews people seemed like they were getting 2-3+ hour bowls out of it.

My bowls are lasting about as long as say, Al Fakher or Fusion.. about 1-1/2 hours or so.. is there something I'm missing that gives these legendary 3+ hour bowls? Using a small phunnel (which still holds a ton of shisha) and packing a little tighter than normal shisha but not as much as regular tangiers.

heat management and hole pattern makes a big difference... i assume your packing lucid like al fakher... since tangiers is sensitive to heat so that has a lot to do with it also

I got some Japanese Golden Canary coals in today so I used those, did 1/2 of a stick (2 squares) with a windcover and 3 rings of holes. The smoke will last a bit past the 1-1/2 hr mark but there's no flavor left so I stop smoking since it's weird smoking tasteless shisha.

I use a jet glass which holds like 15 grams and i can get about 2.5 hours from lucid on a regular basis. I have noticed that i think that my bowl is running out when its really not. I put on more coals and it keeps going. I would say just keep puttin another round of coals on it and itll last longer.

i learned a neat trick at a very traditional hookah lounge, there was a nice old man from egypt tending to the hookahs so you didn't have to deal with the fuss of coal and such...anyway.. he taught me a trick to keep the bowls life. he took a toothpick or pin and stuck it in one of the holes that was previously in the bowl and just swirled it around so the shisha got mixed up so you don't waste any shisha and you get like 2hr+ sessions...

perhaps try packing it differently then how you are now... i pack my lucid in a reg mod bowl and it lasts 2+ hours with 2-3 hookahjohn coals. i don't have much experience with jap coals sorry:/

can you explain this trick that you learned in this old school hookah bar?

sure no problem basically when you've been smokin for a while i mix up the shisha by taking a toothpick and putting in a whole thats already in the pattern. i tilt the toothpick and just move it around so it doesn't make the hole bigger but yet still moves the shisha...i do this about 3 times around the bowl so that all the shisha gets mixed and that adds about 30-1hour of life to the bowl.. i do this in my phunnel and my reg bowls

Sometimes the top layer of shisha will get totally used up and be really crusty, preventing the stuff underneath from getting heated. I imagine that's why supersubby's trick might work, it helps get the hot air to the unused shisha underneath.

def packing too light. You can get "hours" out of any brand if you pack it the right way, I def say pack more tobacco in there.

I think I'll do that in a few after this 2nd bowl runs out.. when I emptied the first one it didn't seem like there was a ton of shisha in there.. and it was all dry as can be. That toothpick trick did pull about 15 mins or so out of it though.
