Thanks for the honest review IV. Sorry the flavor was whacked. I'm curious if the other reviewers have noticed their flavor diminishing since after their first smoke. I *think* that spiking it before I shipped may not have had an immediate affect but over time it killed it.
I dunno who gave you a one star but I gave you a 5 because I think that is BS for someone to rate the video without commenting on why. I asked for honesty and you were even almost apologetic as you gave it so I appreciated it. It's not like you wanted to make a negative review and I think everyone should keep that in mind. It is a work in progress and it is part of R&D as you said.

That said ther were some setbacks but unrelated to the project itself. Two big events this week brought things to a standstill. First my father-in-law fell at his house and laid in the floor two hours before a neighbor checked on him and found him in the floor with his mouth busted open laying in a pool of blood. He's 84 (old enough to be my wife's granddad) The neighbor helped him up and to the bathroom where he fell again and got lodged between the toilet and the wall. My wife and her sisters were already heading to his house at the time and had to help get him up.
Paramedics came and said he was okay but her did not get feeling better so they took him to the hospital. There after some tests they found out he had a stroke. He's stable and in good spirits, got 6 stitches in his lip the paramedics had thought was "not that bad". He has to go through therapy and it's still unclear.

Now we move on to event number two. Long story short on that; Scalli is going to be a grand-daddy around September. My oldest daughter got stuck in a bad situation with timing of my father-in-law so my middle daughter took it upon herself to unload that info on my wife who in rather freaked out fashion delivered the news to me. I still can't find my ass with both hands right now.
As you can tell it has been an eventful weekend. But this too shall pass and everything has a way of working itself out. I can find humor in damn near anything but for right now I'm trippin pretty bad over this. My wife is really a mess and I try to assure her that if she has put up with me all these years that she can tolerate damn near anything. She has not found the humor in that yet either so I think we are tied there.
So please be a bit more patient with me guys. We really will see this come to fruition. Larry is still making good progress on the hose handles. I will update that thread in a bit. I am really happy to have found him. Top notch guy.

Haha!!! The poor bastard has his work cut out for him. He's an immature little shit but I'm hoping this helps him grow up a little bit. Time will tell. To be honest their situation hits really close to home. If and when the time for beating him down comes he knows as good as I do that I will beat him like a rented mule.
It is really ironic that my father-in-law really did not care too much for me at his age but my mother-in-law loved me to death and after he got used to me and I proved my worth to him we have been really close for many years now. I'm trying really hard to make myself remember that right now. Again time will tell but it's that boy's situation to make better or worse and me to try and be patient which is against every fiber in my being. It's just as much my daughter's fault and I don't love her any less and his parents love his sorry ass still. But if they give me the go-ahead I will beat him down in a second!!! HA!!!
I have to stay away from Shiner right now because I don't want to do something really dumb. I can hear my wife and the kids downstairs laughing right now and it's a good sound. It would probably be kinda funny if I went out to the garage, got a shovel and walked back through and out to the backyard and stopped and looked at them and said "hey, why don't you call Aaron and ask him to come over?"

It is definately been a bad roll of luck on some things but there's been some silver linings. Definately a good thing that my father-in-law has a really good neighbor of 40+ years. He's lucky he didn't hurt himself getting my F-O-L off the floor.

The nice thing is that the longer the herb soaks the odds are better it will be peaked. I'm trying to get an idea of a timeline on things. I need things to work out with some good luck this week. I have a family reunion at my brother's house in east Texas (on Lake Palestine, really cool place) Last time we rented a 14 room hotel on the lake and partied our asses off. I have one crazy ass family. Most of the peeps that married into it can't keep up with some of the shit we pull. The usually huddle in a corner together and wait for us to start passing out
But anyways I hope I can get time in the evening to get this shit done. I'm oncall tomorrow night with work so I'm screwed there and how my F-o-L does will have an impact as well.

I'm gonna make a test batch and see if she's ripe

I pulled out a test batch last night that is a little over two weeks old. It tastes like peppermint again It is like between two days and somewhere around two weeks the vanilla and raspberry go right back to nothing. At least I don't have a shitload like last time but still it's very frickin discouraging.
It doesn't seem like the peppermint is getting stronger either and that is the discouraging part. If it was that I could start off with less pmint. But I think that if it was for the pmint I would be able to taste anything.
Still a metric shitload of smoke for what that is worth.

So it not square one but I gotta get this shit stable. A good friend of mine that is in Abu Dhabi right now whose family that lives in Jordan are friends of people that make their own shisha that is supposed to be really good shit.
I asked him to ask them if they use 100% natural ingredients and if they would sell me flavorings minus any glycerin.
That is sort of a long shot but a reasonable backup plan. I'm needing backup plans for this shit and won't rule out much at this point. Whether or not the people have as good of shisha as I have had that was from there I have no idea yet.
The pro to that if it works out is I could have more flavors going faster. I don't want to get my hopes to high. These people may say they have zero interest in selling flavoring or make the price so it is not cost effective.

So while I thought the string of bad luck was just a fluke it has decided to stay awhile and I have to be more careful about overextending my ass. That is the worst part in the big scheme of things.
More experimenting ahead. I may go after peach and backburner the others. I really don't know right now.
The other projects are going better at least. But this is one I have the highest hopes in and won't give up until it's right.
I do have some great shit with a 2 week shelf life is about all I can claim right now though. Sorry guys.

I agree. I can't sell this shit unless I was selling it at a lounge and not mixing more than I would go through in two weeks. Not very practical a thought without a lounge.
Heck I have not even started on really trying to get a lounge yet. I already have two guys lined up that will help with the herb when the time comes that I have a solid system in place.
Basically they would mix batches from recipes so the recipes have to be rock solid. These guys have cooking backgrounds which is what I think will make them perfect when we cross that bridge.

Lemme tell ya about my friend that is in Abu Dhabi. He just lost his job there. We worked for the same company that laid me off last September.
He is one of my best friends. He was born in Dallas but his Dad was a chemist that specialized in polymers and took jobs all over the world. His Mom is Jordanian and his Dad was from somewhere in the that region but I don't remember exactly where.
They lived in the UK, Saudi, and other places. I tell everybody he was born in the middle east since technically Dallas is sorta in the middle and a little to the east in Texas.
He speaks at least 4 languages, maybe five.
I tell you all that because all of you that have even seen one of my dumbass videos know that on paper we are polar opposites but we are best of buds. He has a son and his Mom live in Jordan and he is going there until the end of the month before he comes back here.
During this downtime I want him to enjoy time with his family but knowing he will go a little stir crazy I have tasked him with a few things such as the flavorings.
Sourcing olive wood and any hookah related oddities we could import. When he gets focused on something he is one of the most impressive people I've ever met. He just gets shit done.

Obviously he is used to making very good money and his lifestyle pretty much requires that. He's a helluva lot more savvy than I am about business and sourcing shit around the globe that I would not know the first thing to do. I know that was long but I hope you guys get to know him.
