Burnt Shisha?

Hey guys! I have been smoking shisha for a while now, but I just recently got my own set-up and I want to make sure that I am doing everything right. I hear that when smoking you are accually "roasting" the tabac. The thing is every time I empty a finished bowl it all looks burnt. What is a cashed bowl supposed to look like? And what can I do to prevent it from burning?

What he said. If it's truely spent a little hard puck of dried out tobacco. Perhaps a little moist stuff on the very bottom.

If it's actually burning while smoking, it'll be too harsh to inhale.

if it is black and dry then you're doing just fine.

if it is ash then you're doing something wrong.
