Water In The Hose And Cracked Mouthpiece

Recommended Posts

electrical tape the hose if its cracking. put the water only an inch over the bottom of the downstem. and maybe your bowl is way too over packed so the air is restricted which might cause water to get in.

you dont by any chance wash your hose do you? becuase that could be your problem right there

ok i think i got it figured out. someone else packed the bowl the 2nd time so it pulled harder causing the water to bubble more which put water in the hose. and the guy i got this from said to put ice in the base and i didnt the second time so it got hot and made the wood on the mouth piece crack. i did it today and its working fine no water and no cracking

your smoke should not be hot enough to crack the hose. and water to the neck seems a little high unless you have a syrian hookah. i think your bowls are being packed all wrong. fluff the tobacco in really light, it sounds like you guys are packing it in really tight causing a hard pull and harsh smoke.

Actually chances are the ice in the water the first time is what reduced the bubbling... the second time around, with no ice, it allowed water to bubble up more easily and get into the hose. Same point to be made though, less water needed (or as someone suggested, a diffuser will also reduce bubbling and therefore reduce water turbulence).

As for the cracking, if it's a wood piece that cracked it's most likely because it got soaked at some point and cracked as it dried out.
