cxc5120
What would be the next best coal to the cocos? And for the main use of tangiers bowls. Exocticas?
mattarios2
depends on the shisha you are smoking. What do you smoke?
joytron
hookah johns work really well
inino
most similar to cocos are probably hookah johns. then next best i think are golden japs. then maybe exoticas. this is all my opinion though, im sure people will differ on it. I use bulk natural and i find it better than all the other coals.
cotsi95
Golden Canary Japs or Fumari Japs (Their the same)
cxc5120
It would mainly be fore tangiers or AFbut does everyone think cocos are the best?
mattarios2
eh you cant really ask a question like that, every one has their preferences. Cocos are great coals, but every one does not like them. For AF you can use pretty much anything. For tang I would recommend golden canary japs or fumari, they are the same thing as cotsi already stated.
Sylren
I feel like coco's lose heat and you have to flip them a lot but there still pretty good. I just ordered a bag of exoticas so I will let you know how they compare!
jfaltous
Exoticas are still the best imo... apart from the effort you have to put in to cut them (yes, I'm lazy). I primarily use coconaras for this particular reason.
cxc5120
Hmm.. I think I might just try cocos though..
Zinite
Cocos are too expensive for me... go with hookahjohn naturals.
cxc5120
Lol I thought about it.. But, then I just ordered a 84 pack of cocos and a 250g of Tangiers blue gum ball. I have only had static starlight and pretty much wasted it all because I couldnt ever get it to smoke well with the use of three kings coals. Bulldog_916
Exoticas for me. Can cut them to the proper size for any tobacco. They are cheap. Just the right amount of heat for whatever I smoke. I've tried to find a lot of replacements for Exoticas but I keep coming back to them for a reason. They are just awesome. End of story. MechAnt
I'm sticking with the old school.Nour finger coals all day everyday! My local shop used to make their own but they sold the brand to HookahKings for the next year.
JDHarding
Hookah Johns.. the non-quicklights.. are the only other coconut shell coal I know of in the same class as Coco Naras.Blue Gumball isn't the best choice. It's a good choice if it comes ready without any need for acclimation. But if it needs acclimation, it's going to STINK and will be completely UNSMOKABLE for a while. I bought a box of the quicklights and I still only use Coco Naras. The quicklights stink and smoke too much while lighting. Might be good for an outdoor coal. redjako
Al Fahkr Coco's are pretty much the same A little less heat, a bit more ash. With Exotica's I use about 2) 1/2 inch squares squares (pretty small) for a med. phunnel on Tangiers...wind cover to get it going, sometimes another 1/2" intermittently. I liked the coal itself if it wouldever have stayed together and not broken into lots of tiny pieces and burned the heck out of my floors. I like coco's because I've never gotten any that fall apart, the quality is consistent and that is what I aim for. I remember reading alot of folks on here talking about how exoticas were getting very bad about breakage etc, is that still true?-Z
