Scoop
trivial that looks underpacked, but it works for you , it works for you.here are a few pics from my method (similar to erics)starting with the bowl about to go into the stirred up tobacco This is what I got after my dig Now you take all that, and even it out, you dont have to push it all in, just take the oyster fork and try to make it as even as possible on top without digging any tobacco out. Here is a pic after a little forking. Now take the fork, and drag from the center hole outwards with the flatter end. After done it will look like this Here is a side view Then you take your foil, place it over the bowl, and slightly press down to see the stiffness of the tobacco, if you get the shape of the funnel really easily, you have underpacked it. Now pull the foil sides out so it flattens out and foil it up.
trivial
holy shit that looks like worms in a tub.. how much tangier is in thereyeah i tried doing that pack and the heat management was harder and did just as much smoke... but it does work thats for surewhat I like about your way is the flavor is better for longer sessionsOnly people Ive seen pack like me is raversx and dk kevinand how do you do your holes??? Scoop
I poke the holes all over, sometimes in rows, sometimes in circles, randomly pretty deep. i then wipe off the top (usually the oyster fork or toothpick gets some juice on it and it spreads on the top) with a napkin
Click
Lol that's a pretty good spiral in the foil, Scoop.

redjako
Good avatar snoop (hypnotizing in a weird way, muahahah)Codename, I hate you for your smoke, so, your forcing me to buy a KM Last night I packed the CRAP out of y medium phunnel. snoopy method, jammed it in, section by section, slamming it together against one another, and I went further by packing and packing and packing till I feel I used almost 2.5 sampler packs of shisha in that sucker Though this was a small amount of K Cherry and Guava Tangiers. (EDIT: toothpick holes across the entire hole and center, all the way / half way down to the bottom, blew up through foil then back in for airflow, smoking on a Mya Paragon (single hose adapter on and a purge valve).I fired up three coco'sFirst ten minutes (I have no patence, so I made myself watch the clock before adding more coals) I used two-halfs of the six pieces of coco's10 minutes added another5 minutes added anotherGot all the way up to 6 halves in...20 min? Too harsh, left a equivalent of 2.25 (burned down a bit on the half) on it.An hour later, put three-half pieces of golden-coal insta lights (ugg) on.Smoked another half hour.It was actually really nice, but I can't for the life of me leave on full-sized coals, packed to hell, under packed, sprinkled, anything, without getting it harsh almost immediately. With the half-pices of coals, I can only get medium smoke however. redjako
Can't edit twice CX, try the method I've used for adding half-pieces of coals, and be patient, getting the bowl UP to 4+ pieces (two full coco's) in halves around the edges.Last night WAS my best session, almost 2 hours (actually it was a longer movie, probably 2.25 with coal lighting in between), went through three coco's, and later two golden coals all in half-pieces, slowly added, constantly moved around the edges of the bowl.I would also PURGE that sucker in between at least every couple of hits, when more coals were on, purged it every time before hand..I think this is important with tangiers, but who knows.Good, nice, smooth flavor for hours, but, really not those "fluffy clouds" I keep hearing about
indian_villager
How did you cut a coco in half?
newjacksm
IV if you have tongs with edges and mya tongs best way to do it is cut the coco right down the middle as far as you can with the tongs w/ the edges (i can get it about half way through the coal) and then take your pointy mya tongs and take a nice jab at it or put some pressure on it with the pointy mya tongs and it should break right in half. It wont crumble into a million pieces but it sure as shit will make a lot of coal dust! So I recommend using a paper plate Edited March 2, 2009 by newjacksm

ih303
CXC, I too have struggled with Tangiers so I know how you're feeling. Everyone has a different method, so it's confusing trying to figure it out. Maybe I can shed a little light on this for you, though.First, my setup is a MYA QT, Razan hose, Small Tangiers Phunnel, Social Smoke hookah foil, and Chronic Hookah Natural Coals.Packing:As long as you pack the shisha tight and slightly above the rim, you will be good. That's all that matters.Foil:The Social Smoke foil is slightly thicker than Reynolds so you might try two pieces of foil in your experimentation. I use a toothpick to poke three rings of holes all the way down to the bottom of the bowl to aerate.Heat:This is the most important part. I split a single Chronic Hookah Natural coal in half before starting it. Yes, only one! (Since CH coals are similar to coco's, I think this method should work for you as well.) Once coal-halves are lit, place one half on each side of the phunnel across from each other. Now this part's important - WAIT!Give it a good five to seven minutes to heat up. As stated previously, OG Tangy requires very little heat. If you try to smoke too soon, you will get very weak smoke and feel inclined to add more coals. That will make it too harsh. So just be patient, let the shisha heat up, and see if you can get those billowy clouds you hear everyone always talking about.Good luck. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions. Bulldog_916
I find that I get thunderclouds after about three hits using 2 little coconut coals. It's crazy. I gotta move em around the bowl until the harshness goes away. YET another reason I like Exoticas over any type of coconut coal.

redjako
Its definately ADD, so watch TV or something, and make SURE your letting it sit at least 5 min before adding more heat...then wait 5 more min (I'd even say 10).Im the most impatient sucker in the world, but with tangiers, its the only way I've been able to smoke it.
