Making A Homemade Hookah!

My brother and I are interested in making a hookah but from scratch and we wanted to know how most of you make your homemade hookahs or if there are tutorials online.

if you look in this section there are several pretty decent ones that people have made that you can use for inspiration.

got a cool looking base (earlimeier flask, a flower pot, something like that) then get a tube that fits into there with a grommit, and makes a good seal. make that you hose port tube, then figure out how to run a downstem from your bowl to your water and your good.

The mechanics of hookah are really very simple. Just go to the hardware store and look around for inspiration, you'd have to be completely unimaginative not to get some sort of idea what you could do.

One tip: Silicone sealant is magical.

When I was building my homemade, the hardest part to get straight (for me at least) was what to use as a downstem. There's somewhat of a controversy on copper versus brass. Here's a quick little breakdown of good materials... glass (ideal)>stainless steel>brass>copper.

In my homemade, someone on the forums introduced me to this part called a "toilet supply line" that works perfectly Its brass, cheap (under 10 bucks) and available at lowes.

But yea, look around here for inspiration. Building it was a lot of fun for me. My final product turned into a hand held sobe bottle hookah.
