Nikon1323
So i finally jumped on the diffuser wagon after everyone was talking about it and how there great for small hookahs....so i figured my hobo has a somewhat short stem...so i made this diffuser from a thick straw and just poked hole in it with a thumb tack... and it fit perfect on the bottom of the stem with the rubber ending they give you...the thing worked amazing to.....i took that pic after 1 hit......and it usually takes a bit to get the hobo goin Edited February 26, 2009 by Nikon1323

jellywerker
Another hobo user! Cool.I've found marker caps fit perfectly over that rubber bit and are quite a bit more durable. What I just recently tried and found to work very well though was using drinking straws like so: http://www.thehookahlounge.org/2007/09/25/...ookah-diffuser/
JDHarding
Your diffuser sticks way out from the end of the stem. Is this the preferred way to use a diffuser? The directions on my plastic one says to have the end of the stem buried deep down inside the diffuser.Though this defeats the purpose of all of the holes along the sides of the diffuser, and the holes in the rubber top of it. jellywerker
Due to its lighter than water nature, the smoke will rise quickly and more tends to go out the top holes, so situating the diffuser centered on the stem helps to put flow in both directions, but it's not required.
