I beg to differ - conservatives are the ones that by definition try to involve themselves in every aspect of your life. Example: who gets to get married, who doesn't get the freedom to do what they want with their bodies, etc etc

Anyway, I hope the bill dies. Why do lawmakers care so much if people smoke hookah or not? It's not like most restaurants have hookahs, so the places that do have them cater to people who want to smoke or don't mind....

That's what it USED to mean. The GOP has changed a lot in the last 50 years. Now the focus seems to be on Social Conservatism, based on fear and hate.

from what i learned in school conservativism is small government and free market, and liberalism protect the people for their better good through market regulation, emphasis on personal freedoms and liberties. if you have a problem with this you can take it up with the maryland department of education and penn state university

As for terms, just because the dictionary defines something a certain way (eg. conservatism) clearly does not mean that's the reality on the ground (see George W Bush + Republican Party = one of the largest deficits and expanses of federal government in the history of the US).

Obama just said in his speech that he urges all Americans to get at least a year of post high school training/education, maybe it's time for some of you to go back to community college lol

the very first hookah bar I went to is this one http://www.alflaylah.com/index.htm The owner Sam had just got married and my co-workers and I fell in love with that place. It is the place that got me into hookahs.
This is so damn ridiculous this is happening there. The reasoning, or lack thereof has already been more than covered here already.
