Jakes A Liar/cheater Discussion Thread

Although this took place on another site, i'm going to list this for two reasons:
1. I think its important for HF members to know of scumbag traders everywhere, regardless of what site they currently use.
2. So that people have a chance to read the true, full, unedited story.

10 weeks ago Jake, the admin of another hookah site that will now be referred to as 'ShayD', was able to piggy back on our very own Indian Villagers order of Mini Phunnels from Eric Tangiers. Jake was only able to score 40 of these bowles for ShayD. Jake was telling people that the first 40 to paypal $22 would get in. only 1 bowl per person. I knew Indiana Villager was only charging $13 plus shipping for these, and that there was no way shipping would be $9 on these, so I assumed jake was pulling a small profit on these, but didnt care enough to not pick up another one for myself.

I paid, as did the others, Jake created a similar 'mini phunnel hype' thread on ShayD for his members, but it seems that most people werent as excited about these. probably because only 40 of us got them. i can understand that.

As I slowly pulled all of my involvement from ShayD over other distastes I had towards the site I actually forgot I had ordered one from there. I assumed their mini's would be made when ours were for here, and that they would ship around the same time. Well after Indian Villager received his order and started shipping I became curious about my mini from ShayD.

here is a rough timeline of how things then transpired. note that there is no longer any record of any of my being in ShayD as I have had my account wiped to prevent me from telling others the truth.

8 days ago I did the logical thing and posted a reply in the 'hype thread' asking if he had an update.
1 day later i sent Jake a private message due to no response in that thread
1 day later i posted on a thread Jake had just made, asking him to check him PM's.
1 day later, still no response.

I now decided on what probably wasnt the best course of action, but certainly the funnest. I went in to the ShayD chat and started asking where jake was and asking anybody with [ShayD] in front of their names if they knew anything of the mini's. Sadly since most of the moderators on that site are still working on 3rd period homework they werent old enough to even smoke hookah 10 weeks ago when this order was placed. they had no idea what I was talking about. I was also told by 3 mods and several members that 'i shouldnt need an update, jake will get them to me, just be patient about my mini and dont be a brat'

I moved on to the fun step. i started making fun of their mods and various other nimwitted members in the ShayD chat. Suddenly [ShayD]Nick was in chat and wanting to private chat with me. he asked why i was being cruel to his members, i informed him what i thought of his fellow mods. he then asked what i wanted. I told him i wanted an update from jake on the mini phunnels. he promised me he would get in touch with jake personally and get me a response.

at this point i would like to give a special thanks to Nick. 30 minutes later I had my response from jake. He handled the situation in chat very well, and fulfilled his promise to me. Thank you Nick.

jakes response? 'Hey logan, everything is good, we are just waiting on the check to clear, as soon as it does everything will be good to go'

I almost bought this line. Almost.

about a day later i came to the quick realization that jake should have sent that check 9 weeks prior. and no check in the world takes 9 weeks to clear. none. I now wanted more answered but realized where this was probably heading.

I decided to cut out the middle man and called Eric Tangiers himself. he told me roughly the following:
'i'm not saying jake didnt send the check, but i dont remember seeing it, and i feel like i would remember a check for that much money. That said, even if he did send the check, i dont have a color list of what to make so i cant even make them if i did have the check. Again, not saying he didnt send it, and maybe its lost on the desk somewhere, but i just dont remember it'

this said to me two things. Jake lied to me about something. The mini's would not be ready on time. If Eric hadnt even made them then it would be at least another 8-12 weeks now if he received the check even that day.

I pm'ed jake informing him i wanted the following things done:
a public announcement stating the minis were terribly behind schedule
a call to eric tangiers to try and prove the check was sent. he should be able to provide the check number easy enough.

1 day went by with nothing. I then went to chat once again demanding Jake. The mods there are apparently less intelligent than the average 2 year old, as i told them at some point. They were convinced that i was merely impatient and bratty, and just wanted my mini phunnel now because i didnt want to wait. they told me jake had quoted an 8-12 week time frame, and until that time frame was up i had no right to bitch. I couldnt get it to sink in to their high school minds that there was no way Eric could make phunnels in 3 weeks and have them shipped to jake, and again to us. that my guess is jake never even sent the money.

then abby came in to chat and banned me to keep me from telling people the truth about her boyfriend.

THEN abby came in to our chat under the username ALG17 and started telling me how wrong i was and arguing with me. I believe some mean names were tossed my way, but i honestly dont remember. She informed me that everybody would get getting their mini but me. I demanded an immediate refund. after much bickering and calling Jake out i finally got my refund in two payments. one of $22, and another of $2 to cover the paypal fees from the first payment. granted i didnt need the 94 cents that paypal took, but at this point it was the principal of it.


my guess on everything? Jake probably used the money we sent for mini's to make some of his various trips to vegas/florida wherever it is he goes. probably took abby out for a nice dinner, and i doubt anybody ever see's their mini or their money.

as i understand jake has told everybody the mini's will take 'a couple more weeks than planned' and has since sold my mini spot to somebody else. i dont care. i'm not losing anything. You all know that i havnt complained/bitched one bit about the mini's here and those of you who know me know that I'm not the kind of guy to rush anything, ever.

thats my story. people can pretty much back up everything I have said. to anybody else that has an order with jake i would suggest asking for your money back asap, because it will be no sooner than 2 months before those minis are made, if ever. i'm going with never.

Hate to say this but I knew about this for weeks now. Eric told me about this a while ago I just decided to keep it quiet as it is none of my business and I'm not going to be the one to bash another forum and their suspicious activities......Eric doesn't have a color list or a check from them last time I checked.

I am happy I didn't buy one through him. I didn't have internet and missed the phunnels from here (SADLY), and was happy to see him put them up. But when I saw the price had an additional 10 bucks strapped to it, I said fuck it and didn't blow the cash. Good choice on my part. Hopefully they make another run for us sometime in the future. I would love to get my hands on one.
