SixPackSunday
hey guys, something i was pondering... would anybody be willing to donate ANY amount of cash towards buying extra mya acrylics to be given to people without any hookah? i've been wanting to do something like this for a long time, and i think this may be one of the easier chances to do it. These hookahs would go to:people who just cant afford onepeople who have had it stolen (as it recently happened)people who's only hookah broke and cant buy another one. of course these things would need some kind of proof or 'voucher' from a senior member, but could be a great way for us as 'hookah forum' to show some love. I for one dont care if somebody from this forum asked for one of them to just give to a friend who couldnt afford it. if you guys want to do this then each hookah would simply sit in waiting at my house until somebody felt a person was worthy of one. and I would then ship it out with a card. I would list everybody who donated and of course letting them know HookahForum.com was the reason it was sent. if your willing to do this merely send whatever amount you one to EZGO58 AT hotmail DOT com and put just simply say, 'this is a donation from XXX' in the notes field. if you want to remain anon thats could too. any 'extra' money that may not make enough to buy a whole hookah i'll just add to to make up the difference. if you all like this idea, send away! if not, its cool. Mush if you hate the idea then just delete the thread. not sure why you would, but it is your forum.
Voski
Not to hate but if you can't afford ~$20 for a hookah how are you going to afford coals/tobacco/foil ect...
chinamon
i dont think giving away a hookah to someone who cant afford one is a good idea. you will have people taking advantage of the situation just to get a free hookah. also, hookah is not a necessity. if a person cannot afford it then they shouldnt smoke it anyway. if they cant afford a hookah and we give them one for free then that means they cant afford coals and tobacco either. maybe we should give away that stuff too? indian_villager
Your heart is in the right place but I can see this going wrong fast.
Voski
Now that I think about it maybe if we want to spread a good name for the hookah community and help out against these smoke bans we can donate to a good cause of some sort. Then we can get lounges to ask customers if they would like to donate to our super donation program.
SixPackSunday
thanks guy, its why i put this up for discussion. i know i plan on buying at least two extras to give away on my own terms, but thought the community may feel this way and i understand entirely. i really do. as far as shisha/coals. i plan on sending out some of that out of my own pocket with each hookah. mitchard
I plan on giving one of my mya's away already. I might order another so I can pass two of them along to buddies who are in need.
Cybersist
I could see some people turning this idea around and making assumptions about the hookah community saying we are trying to "promote unhealthy activities by handing out smoking products". It would be similar to going out and handing people packs of cigarettes (not in our eyes, but in the eyes of a reporter looking for a story, etc).Edit: happy 600th to me
