inino
never noticed anything. i can run 5 miles after smoking 3 bowls. sounds like your problems are not a direct cause from smoking, but from asthma occuring naturally, and the smoke is making it worse. Cybersist
I've noticed nothing either, and I swim pretty constantly while at work.
jellywerker
I'd take a break from your hookah. Asthma can be something you develop later in life and if your doctor says you have it, sucking dust into your lungs is bad. So take a break for a month or two to let your lungs clean out and see how you feel.

My cardio has never been really good but I can comfortably jog/run for half an hour. However, I never smoke during the day before doing cardio.I'd lay off for a few months if I were you and see if there's any improvement.

Victim026
Do you have cockroaches in your house? One of the major causes of asthma is cockroach infestation and I know that due to a friend having asthma caused by it growing up. After he left for college his asthma cleared up since he was no longer living in the same house.
Codename067
If it is the smoking that's causing you the problem, then lay off of it for some time and see if your breathing improves. If it does, then you will know for a fact that the smoking was causing it.
Sylren
Every person is different, some will not be affected at all by smoking. But if you have more sensitive lungs then it could be worse for you. My husband can smoke and smoke and he feels fine, but if I over-do it then I get sore throats, trouble breathing etc... But I had asthma as a kid so that probably has something to do with it. : )

MrMoodz
I've been smoking for 7 or 8 years and the only times that I notice breathing problems is if it's allergy season. But yeah, if you have an inhaler, it would definitely be worth your while to take a hookah break. What are your smoking habits?
clickhea
My smoking habbits vary. There were times id smoke daily for a week straight.. then there were times id go a week without smoking anything at all. Also, id usualy never finish a full bowl. kryptiq
Been smoking for 3 years now quite consistently, been smoking hookah daily for the past 8 months or so and no issues here. I still work out 4 days a week and so cardio the other 3. Lay off smoking for a week to a month and see what happens
peterjmag
I've been smoking for over three years now (started when I was 18), and I can't say that I've ever noticed any sort of trouble breathing or decreased performance when I'm running/working out. Of course, since I've pretty much been smoking that whole time, it's definitely possible that I'm not reaching my full "physical potential," so to speak, because of the smoke. I'm definitely tempted to take a couple months off and see if it makes any difference.I second (or third, or fifteenth) the notion that you should take a break to see if your asthma improves. mattarios2
smoking brings out allergies and asthma that most people never had. If you never had asthma and then got diagnosed with it, I would say i am 90% sure it is from the smoking. I mean it definitely contributed to it.
