Canon
they can crap out on you... i just avoided a house fire. on of the coils on my coil burner had a short in it somehow.. it broke or something but there was a short in my coil burners. i saw a bright white light there and heard the normal electric sound. if i havent been there then i can only assume that it would have started a fire.stay near your coil burners and dont forget about them and leave them on.just thought id share

Voski
damn mine has been outside since august. Been through rain and snow and still works fine. Only problem is that if I try to pickup or flip coals barefoot it shocks me.

Zyram
I left mine on once, one of the wires inside melted off or shorted, but it didn't cause a fire or anything, it just quit working since it has no ground wire now =( Thanks for the heads up though, I had no idea they could spark up!-Z
soldier92
Hmm, good to know. I go downstairs to get a drink a lot while my coals heat up, twould be a sizable bummer if my hookahs were stuck in a house fire. What would I do without them?
clumsygrace
Wow, that's kind of scary. Thanks for the heads up.
Canon
nvm on the pictures, i just tore my burner apart. anyway i figured out what happened..the burner was made out of a cheap metal. it started to corrode and warp over time. when i took the coil out by itself it was easily cracked at several places. there was a white substance inside which i assume was an insulator, or something to help the heating process.on average i use my burner 2-3 times a day every day of the week. ive had it for about 5 months now. always inside. Bulldog_916
Looks like I'm not going to be leaving the garage to pack a bowl while the coals heat up anymore. Thanks Canon. Although, I figure I only use it maybe 2 days a week. I should be okay for a while, but I wont risk it.

Matt-641
I got mine free from the former owner of a local hookah lounge. So If it stopped working, I wouldn't be too dissapointed.Yeah, It's DEFINATELY not a good idea to start it up and just walk away to another room (unless you can still keep an eye on it from the other room). I'm always either right by it or just in the next room, where I can still see it just in case something were to go wrong.
Canon
i left mine on unattended all the time, it was only luck that i was in the room when it did that. im going to have to rethink of where to put it so i can keep an eye on it and still chill in the living room
