If you went to X city and looked up a list of the local hookah bars, out of the above would you pick to go to and why?

Some of the above are real hookah bars. some are names ive made up. if you could answer honestly that would be great. if you have gone to one of the bars above then pretend you havent when you vote.

thanks

I voted Kan Zaman just because that name caught my eye, but in all honesty I would never just base what hookah bar I would go to in a city off the name. It's too easy with the internet these days to hop on an find some reviews or a website to preview beforehand and I would do at least a little research before blowin my cash.

Hezbollah Hookah Lounge - most kick ass name ever

Pick # 2 - Blue Nile

I like names that might have something to do with the Middle East region

I chose Kan Zaman because it is an Arabic name and I would hope its a traditional Arabic cafe.

My second choice would be Hezobollah Cafe but I would scope out the place first to make sure its not a trap set-up by the FBI LOL.

I chose Myxx because to me it evokes a sense of modern hip hop culture which I am fond of and a part of. Not in the trendy rappity rap crap game but y'know, funky and fresh. Modern and youthful. Misspelled.

I picked Hidden.

I like the concept of taking the hookah and integrating it into our culture. So I like stuff that isn't overtly Middle Eastern.

I liked Hookah Hut, Just would love to go into a place that has everything to pick out for your self pretty much like a real BAR. Except more relaxing, basically what the name says. If it were really a "Hookah" "HUT" then I would be going there frequently.

But I dont just visit any hookah lounge/bar with out getting some reviews off the net or word of mouth.

Regardless of the name, the name could be called Hookah Butt Staaank Lounge but have the most amazing set up and everything I would still go. Edited by newjacksm

Have you ever been to Rannoush? It's a good spot if you're gonna catch a movie at AMC 30. Closer and way quieter than the trendier bars on Westheimer. You were referencing the one in Houston right?

I voted Phoenicia - Very appealing name. I almost voted Hezbollah lol

I picked Rannoush. It sounds nicely foreign, not like The Bar or something, and sounds like it would be a classier place than say Habu Hookah. The names like Breeze, et al don't conjure up Arabian Nights images for me so I don't think they work that well. They sound more like a nightclub that just opened and will be cool for two weeks and then out of business in a year.

If this is research though for a lounge or something though, keep this piece of opinion in mind: it's all about the atmosphere/service. A good name helps, but even if you are called something super tacky or retarded, Canon's Super Pimpin Hookah Toke Plaza or something, if you're cool on the inside, you'll do well. Good soundtrack that you can talk over, but still sit back and listen to if you come by yourself. Not drafty or cold. Low to the floor/floor seating. Preferably lounging instead of sitting up. Very clean tables and rugs and such. No ash sitting on the carpets from people's coal spills. Coal burns tastefully covered up or lots of small rugs you can rotate out when they get bad. A non overwhelming selection of both ethnic and neutral finger foods. A decent drink selection. Good lighting that is relaxing and just dim enough to make smoke more fun to play with. Furniture/curtains arranged to create both open communal spaces and more private feeling alcoves. Also, decent visual separation between the entrance and the smokers.

Of course that is basically all just things I think would be cool and would implement if I built a lounge.

exhale is a lounge by my house (long beach), really good quality pipes, the bowls are packed more than anywhere i have been, and the owner is a super chill.

I picked Kan Zaman Cafe because i have always wanted to go to a more traditional lounge and because cafe there will be yummy middle eastern foodsuffs

Hez b is just there are no words. Irrispective of personal political bias to incorporate any terrorist or political name into a business, in the western world, is just plain.....*

I voted for blue nile. Good, relaxing, and connected with the middle east.

JD

* I am voicing my opinion of on what I can only assume is canon's proposed buisness venture names. If you do not agree with me that is fine, this thread is not the place to discuss it.

I'm not trying to start anything, the name just rang a bell, so I searched it on the web, and Wikipedia along with many other sites stated the comment I made. Wasn't trying to start anything or create any arguments.
