Lol My Mom's Boyfriend Thought My Hookah Was A Nht Pipe..

Well I woke up this morning to go to class, and my mom's boyfriend, who slept over for the night, looked behind the TV for some odd reason, and found my handheld.

He basically confronted me this morning and said "Hey, if I were you, I'd get rid of that NHT pipe back there." And I kind of looked at him funny and said, "It's a hookah.." Then he got really serious and said, "No hookah leaves a white residue on it."

So I picked up my handheld, bowl still packed with foil still on top, and sure enough, tiny pieces of ash was left on the foil, leading him to believe that it was "NHT" I then explained to him everything else about hookah, how it has little nicotine and no tar, and you know the rest.

I don't know if he was convinced or not, but I'm old enough to know that tobacco is not an illegal drug.

If my house wasn't filled with fucking puritans I could smoke my hookah whenever I wish. Edited March 3, 2009 by Johnny_D

And this is my biggest aggrevation when it comes to me and my hookahs.... People who don't know about them are immediatly scared or intimidated and assume that it is drugs because, obviously, if they are ignorant of something then it must be illegal, right??

I really hate when people don't understand what a hookah is for. Or when they just don't believe you when you say its used for tobacco. I mentioned it to a kid in my class and now he's convinced I smoke ...non shisha herbs. It really pisses me off sometimes.

Haha some older guy in his fourtys with a younger girl came up to me in a park about a year and a half ago while I was smoking solo and reading a book. He was condemning me and then after showing him the box of Nakhla and explaining what hookah was his girlfriend was smoking with me hahahaha. He looked pretty upset but I was rofling. He was a muslim and I told him, jokingly, that he should be ashamed that he didn't know what a hookah was.

Ugh, I had that problem too with my mom. She freaked out when she found my hookah. Even after I explained it to her, she still wanted to confiscate it.

HAHA, a couple of weeks ago my mom comes up to me laughing and says, " Your dad's wondering how you got hooked on that weird middle-eastern drug". I explained to him what it was and he smokes it now. Of course my dad's an old hippy so he thinks everything is drugs!

lucky my mom thinks smoking is going to kill me. ironicly she doesnt think drinking, or the meds ive been on for years on end that are metabolized in the kidneys will do anything. according to her im getting lung cancer because my grandmother has emphazema and she doesnt smoke yet my grandfather (other side) that did smoke never had any lung problems

It's all the luck of the draw. I think the best way to prevent cancer is to try and relax.

or just do what you want to because life isnt a race to see who can live the longest. id rather have fun for 30 years then do nothing for 100 years. hopefully it will be have fun for 100 years but ill take 70

i've heard varying stories about it... one about how it was invented to actually smoke nht, and the other one about how it was invented as a healthier way to smoke tobacco..

My family is pretty chill about it. When I'm home I bring out my hookah and sometimes even my grandpa will take a couple of puffs. One of my old neighbors now always asks for it and want to buy one

MY problem surprisingly is some friends that will not try it for the life of them, first they have the questions: "is it legal?" and even when I explain what it is they rarely will have even a puff: "oh I've never smoked anything" is usually what I get from them....

I get down talked occasionally... "ya its better than cigs...as far as I'm concerned its like filtering a fart in a bathtub"...but on the other hand my pap gets a kick outta it, he calls it the "Hookah-lay-lee".
I still get nht references with it, anymore I just try to ignore them, its not worth the aggravation IMHO
