Need A New Hookah!

Hey all,

We're new to the forum and to smoking hookah. My girlfriend and I went to the local shop and made an impulse purchase w/o doing any research on a good hookah. Now we're stuck with a cheap unit that it rusting only after a couple weeks. The valves in the hose stems are getting stuck and makes it a pain to smoke. Before we get to discouraged and stop smoking we want to buy a new (better) hookah.

We'd love to get some suggestions on brands and models that some of you are using. Want a 2 hose setup and not really to tall.

if you want a Small hookah get a small mya
if you want a medium hookah get a medium sahara
if you want a large hookah get a Khalil Mamoon

these are your best bet if you dont want a small mya, QT's smoke very nicely, but they're not very impressive in stature.

alot of people will tell you that you have to get a KM, but save about 40 bucks, get a Magdy Zidan, it will last you a lifetime if you take care of it and they seem to be better than alot of the KM's i'm hearing about lately.

Go with the MYA QT or get a MYA acrylic mini or whatever they go by. They are doing a group buy you can snatch one for ~$20.

dont get a mya. they are junk imo. get an mz or a km. mz is a very reasonable priced starter pipe.

why start with something bad then work your way up.

I haven't really set a budget. The one I have was $60 and is a piece of ***t in my opinon. I was uneducated when I bought it and am willing to spend more for a good setup. I don't want to break the bank one a new one though. We want womething fairly short as it will be setting on a coffee table when smoking.

Do the Mya or KM hookahs come with washable hoses? I also agree that we don't want to get another "starter" hookah and work towards something better. I'd rather spend the money once on something that'll last.

I personally own the Mya Acrylic and have absolutely nothing bad to say about it. The hoses that come with that hookah are decent, but I would definitely look for better hoses in the future. If I remember correctly those hoses aren't really washable.

The one I bought is a Sahara Smoke hookah. It started rusting the 1st week I had it. Is this a quality hookah and maybe I just got a bad one?

I have two MYA's a Bambino and an Obelisk. They are both awesome, I don't know how anyone could say they are junk, they are perfect!

Everyone has given good options but you also may want to check out Caravan Trading on ebay (just search for the store). Several of my friends and I have bought from them and they sell a good quality hand made egyptian at a good price. Phone number for their phusical store in Cali is on their ebay site too

all in all you can't go wrong with a mya. as a first hookah they are ideal! sturdy, easy to clean, always hits..you won't be disappointed.

lol? MYA probably produces the sturdiest/best quality hookahs on the market, not saying that mz and km are bad. I own both a MYA and a KM, they both have their ups and downs.You will never see a crappy weld on a MYA etc...

I sympathize. No one wants to have a crappy hookah. The old axiom is true- cheap hookahs are not good. Good Hookahs are not cheap. There are many good qualilty hookahs on the market, at all price ranges. I prefer an acrylic base, they are almost indestructible. If you want a good small hookah, there is nothing better than the "Genie" available from many of the on line retailers.

you also cant appreciate the craftsmanship on a mya . they are good pipes none the less. the qt will do you good and i know you will love it.
