uglycustoomer
Just wondering how everyone cleans their hookah. Myself, I just use hot water and antibacterial soap and really scub the inside with the tools my km came with. After that, I take Q tips and get inside the check value and hose port. Does anyone here use vodka to clean their pipe? Always wondered if someone used that method.
Zinite
Fill the vase up with baking soda, put the stem on, pour lemon juice down the stem and it explodes with cleanliness.
Bookworm
I was just coming here to make a "what's the best way to clean a hookah" thread.Props to you.I've used rubbing alcohol, since that's what I use to clean my glass pipes, but I don't know what the proper way to clean a hookah is.edit: baking soda and vinegar? seriously? Sylren
I cleaned mine with vinegar today, but now my smoked glass vase has water marks all over it so maybe that wasn't the best idea! It's really clean though : )

IamWhee
I'd take a brush to the stem every 3-4 a session. Lemon juice works, baking soda. But for sure need a brush...thats a must.
clumsygrace
I used to clean mine a lot. Like every three to four uses at least, it would get a deep cleaning. Take it in the shower with me and use some natural soap and scrub it up real good.

cemab4y
Use an old toothbrush to get crud out of the ceramic bowl. Then place the bowl, in the dishwasher, this gets the bowl really clean.

Victim026
I use beer to clean my hookahs personally, I know that may seem like Blasphemy but I'm a whiskey kinda man.... Lemon Juice/Baking Soda/Vinegar will all work equally well though.
Boricua
lots of techniques - will have to give them all a try. I've only used water in the past to clean mine so hopefully this will make a difference

ryno
I wash all mine in the bathtub. Usually just hot water and the brushes. Rinse out the stem, hit it with the brush, pour more water down it. Every few cleans it gets hit with soap. Base I usually just brush out, sometimes oxyclean in there and swirl the hell out of it, that works great. I NEVER use soap in my base after a few times of realizing its a bitch to get out
fcbayern
I must be crazy.. I clean mine EVERY use.. People really only clean theirs every few months? NimbleCow
Anyone break it all the way down and put it all in the dishwasher?
inino
why would you deep clean it after every use. seems pointless. running water and a brush once a day or once every 3-4 bowls (whichever comes first) should do just fine.
delSol_si
QUOTE (NimbleCow @ Mar 6 2009, 06:45 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Anyone break it all the way down and put it all in the dishwasher?Personally, my 32" KM ice doesn't really break down...I haven't had much success in cleaning mine, tho I do live in the dorms on campus so I don't have a tub or supplies available that most of you have. I have tried using baking soda and it didn't work worth a damn, next time I will try using it with vinegar or lemon juice and see what happens. One thing I have attempted is letting Listerine (equate brand of course) in the vase overnight.
