Thanks And A New Hose....

Recommended Posts

First off, thanks to all of you wonderful people for sharing your knowledge and experience. I've been a member here for about a week, and I've already learned so much... my enjoyment of the hookah has increased exponentially.

All the reviews and info have really helped me to nail down my issues, and prompted me to experiment with the phunnel bowl (nice equipment, though my first one is way too large for just me -- the new smaller one should be perfect), and to order my first batches of Tangiers (can't wait... and really interested to experiment with this acclimation process).

The one thing that seems to be at a bit of a contentious point is hoses...the recommended ones seems to be getting some bad press of late. And with all my other upgrades of late, I really think a new hose is in order (determined that one of mine has indeed rusted... yuck!).

Seriously thinking about a new hookah as well, but I want to do a little more research; and while I had thought some of my issues were from one of my hookahs, it turns out it was just me not knowing how to properly get it going and manage the heat.

you only have like a minute to edit your post, its to reduce people changing what they type if they type something stupid.

i have a razan and like it, although the grand washables have been getting a lot of good press lately and you might want to check it.

Well Km hoses rule for style and pull, but have a limited life span. Like stated the grand/caravan hoses are sweet. I have one and like it, I know of a couple people who have nammors and grands and they prefer the grand/caravan hose.

As for the tangiers, if your lucky (like me) you wont have any problems with acclimation. When I get tangiers I dont have to acclimate it at all (usually, depends on the weather when it arrives), I still acclimate it for safe measure. One thing to keep in mind is its going to take some trial and error to get consistently good bowls. The upside, however, is that once you get it down you typically wont have problems with it after that.

Good luck and welcome to the forum.
