erufiku's graph pretty much summed up my thoughts. i get the dong was in the novel...but they could have seriously used his cod piece more. i guess im immature but i laughed at many parts in the movie because of it.

Saw it this past Friday. I must say I had to let it sit and needed to ruminate before posting.

End result? I really enjoyed it. Some of the acting WAS hammy, I missed the giant squid in the changed ending, and the all fuckin over the place pacing was at times a hinderance as it kept me from becoming fully involved and engaged in the film's world, but overall I really really liked it.

I will say this: I liked the comics more than the movie. The unfilmable was filmed well but still didn't really hold a candle to the series. There's just so much more character development and subplot to the comics, which is what makes the series so incredible, it's more or less a character and human nature study in a superhero story and there just wasn't the time to get absorbed and invested in the characters in the film.

Yeah yeah, the sex scene in Archie was a bit out of place and I would have rather seen some other meaningful content fit in rather than that but you gotta admit the gal who played SSII is freakin hot.

I thought Rorshach was played phenomenally as well as the Comedian.

I didn't understand why they would randomly throw Bubastis in there when the genetic engineering subplot was taken entirely out of the movie. Just was silly to see a huge blue tiger-sphinx creature out of nowhere.

My biggest issue with the movie really was the way it was done so piecemeal. I think it was done very very well but it's a film I'm going to have to se again to truly appreciate it. I think I'll go see it again when it hits the dollar show.

Overall it was def worth seeing. Can't wait to see it a second and probably third time. Those who haven't read the story might not appreciate it as much.

Read the book then finally saw the movie. Must say. Was a big fan till the end. Subbing Monster for "Dr. Manhattan Frame" in the movie pissed me off. I could go into all the social and psychological reasoning I hate this for being idiotic and perpetuating hate in a culture... I will just skip and say.

Read the book or watch the movie. Not both.
