Does a mod have to constantly monitor the chat for NHT references, is there a script tied into it looking for specific words, or are you relying on the other members to report it? An1m Posted March 9, 2009 Share Posted March 9, 2009 Also, I think that I recently shared a story about how an ignorant person thought my hookah was a NH and was trying to preach to me about NHT before I enlightened him. I think I messed up again, but not in such an egregious way that a mod felt I needed to be banned, however the mod edited my post for me which I appreciate. The moral of my story is that some people, like myself, may become absent minded or may forget the rules when they're doing something like quoting another person. Also, since the edit time is short, for the reason of disallowing people to clean up offensive or rule breaking posts, more people will get banned because if they genuinely make a mistake, and catch it, they may not be able to change it in time. And when there is the phrase "NHT" to represent it all?No offense to anyone in particular, but you would have to be a complete and under incompetent dumbass to get banned for that reason. I agree, I am under incompetent and people "accidentally" do these things because they are accidents and occasionally they occur; people make mistakes. You know those right? Like perhaps typing under incompetent even though you have command over the English language and have been speaking and writing it for some time and meant to write something else. Accidents happen. Period. Maybe you don't make some accidents that some people do and vice versa; maybe I would never use poor grammar and maybe I did accidentally make an NHT reference once. It can be a complete accident. I posting something that I genuinely thought was a hookah when in fact it was not. I even went as far as asking Mush about it because I still thought it was a hookah, then he kindly explained why it was not. And, I have like a 3.7 cumulative GPA (4.0 two semesters in a row) in college and will hopefully be graduating with an accounting degree, so I am not a complete dumbass. Even though the operation of a NHT device and a Hookah are the same, it's in no way difficult to tell the two apart. It's also in no way difficult to see that a site contains NHT devices before a link is posted. Also, there are rules pertaining to every NHT substance, and potential NHT substances; and these rules clarify things to a "T". People are banned everyday for NHT references, because they don't read the rules, and many of them also follow a different lifestyle then most of us here, and therefore are definitely not welcome anyway.If it is hard for one to connect NHT references with being banned, then maybe one should not be posting or chatting until said individual works on their obvious deficiency. I'm not saying I havn't gotten banned, and one is an idiot for getting banned, but getting banned for this certain thing is absolutely absurd for the various reasons stated above.
