Check out the song "Jerusalem" by Matisyahu. I'm addicted to it. smile.gif

Agreed.

And tingjunkie. No one cares.

JD

Heard it... not impressed. Too much really good reggae out there to bother.

What the hell Johnny D? You live in the UK! Outside of Jamaica, that is probably the best place to find excellent reggae happpenings going on. Stop wasting your time with Matis-whoever and check out a Jah Shaka dance session- he is a great DJ who plays in London all the time! Like comparing Soex to Starbuzz!

And by the way... I care. sad.gif

Matisyahu is OK, he's definitely more reggae influenced than Reggae, you could almost compare him to Sublime the way he mixes rock/reggae sounds.

I love old school reggae though. The Gladiators are a personal favorite, Trenchtown Mix Up is a kick ass album. Lee Perry, Peter Tosh, Toots and the Maytals are all definitely worth checking out as well. Reggae is easily my favorite genre when smoking a hookah.

The Gladiators are well crucial! Trenchtown Mix Up is a real classic, but I like Bongo Red as well- hard to beat the Studio One material!

As far as harmony trios go, I think The Heptones might be my favorite. Their Party Time album is freakin great- mixed and recorded by Lee Perry at the Black Ark Studio. cool.gif

Matisyahu has some good music, don't get me wrong. I just like to listen to other stuff while I'm smoking the hookah.

I definitely dig the Matisyahu music.

Thanks for the recommendations, ting. I'm always down for some good sounding music.

No prob ghost. Anytime you need some reggae recommendations, I've got plenty! wink.gif Working on building up my Blues collection too, but I'm far from an expert there.

You don't have to be from Israel to be Jewish.
